We have put in the deep freeze here. Very windy and very cold. We have to travel to my sister's house today, about a 30 miles drive with some food and presents. Jack has to stay home by himself. My sister has 2 cats and Jack has never met them, so, he isn't going.
After Fridays snowfall and canceling of all the schools around here, Sat. wasn't so bad. I finished all the other last minute gift cards, and then went out to dinner with some school friends. We had a blast.
But now that the deep freeze is here things will be tough. My sister just called, who was picking up my dad and said her car doors are frozen and she can only get the driver's side open. So, now we are going to make a little detour on our way to my other sister's house and pick them up. With him being 90 yrs. old he doesn't drive anymore and we want to make sure we celebrate all we can with him.
So, hope everyone has a great week coming up. My friends to the north:coldsm:, please keep safe and warm, my friends in the 'freeze':snow: also keep safe and warm, and to all my friends in the 'warm' states, :bleh::bleh::bleh::lol2:please don't rub it in, or else I'll send a whole convoy down to you with that frozen stuff!!!!

Ick I hate the winter. Thankfully this winter hasn't been too bad but this morning my whole car was ICE. I had to scrape it at 6:30 in the morning just to get to work. It does not make em happy.

Did you know Carol that they actually have stuff in an aerosol can that you use on your car to open it when it's iced over? Yea, I've had to use that stuff on more than one occasion. I keep a spray bottle with windshield wiper deicer so I can spray it on my side and back windows so I can scrape them easier. The less time I spend in the cold, the better!

...........and so with all these winter issues, why is anyone living in the northern part of the USA??????:confused:

I just love to run out, jump in my car and GOOOOOOOOOO!!! Having to wait for the car to warm up or deice the windows..........oh goodness, I'm afraid I would not last long under those conditions.

Trust me, if it were up to me, I would be living somewhere somewhat warmer with less snow.... like back home in OK. Unforunately for me, there is a possibility next year that I could be moving somewhere A LOT colder than No. VA. I may be joining our northern midwest friends and going to WI.

In all seriousness they say that because of it and the lack of sunshine is the reason depression runs so high up north. I think at times I still want to move to Colorado. But then read this and think about not having the sun I change my mind real quick!!!

well i have a heated garage so that isn't an issue here, i can just hop in and go, except after work, i have to warm it up there.... I live here cuz i was born & raised here, all my family is here. I don't know anything other than Iowa living :) I love how slow paced life is here, I would never give up my "country living" life and all it offers :) I could never live in a city.

You know that is true. I read in something about how out in the country a person will stop what they are doing to wave at a stranger. That is NOT what you would get in the city. Another reason I thought about Colorado. And if they can heat my garage. Hummmmmmmmmmmm *LOL*

I'm also a country girl, but my dad was in the military, so I was drug out here to the fastest growing county in the country. I want so bad to be back in the middle of nowhere, but it's just not feasible right now. I don't like traffic and I don't like my neighbor's house touching mine. I like my space and I like to be able to run in a large yard. I also like to be able to do what I want to my house without the HOA stepping in. I'd like to have more animals, but I need more space to do that. You know, in a city, you can go to a club, there is a lot of shopping and places to eat, etc... but I get REALLY bored... I am more entertained and find more interesting things to do in the country.

Oh you guys are making me want it more. BUT there is one more thing holding me back. That is Internet service. With my work being on line building web sites and such I can not have slow speed. So when it comes right down to it, I guess I have to stay in the city. But it is sad that tomorrow I am getting a guard dog. Because my neighborhood has gotten so bad!! grrrrrr

Be very careful Cheryl...our car door was frozen this morning too. I want to know you made it how safe and sound too. I hope you post soon.

Lots of snowfall and winds made for white out conditions here. Needless to say, I am still home and planning on hitting the road tomorrow.

Stay warm and safe all my snow buddies..
