She had just been taken to the hospital the night before for difficulty breathing. It was a rough Christmas for her because it was the first one since my grandfather passed in August. They had been married 68 years.

Oh, poor lady. I can't imagine losing someone after that many years. Is she on oxygen all the time? My mom is -24/7. Does she live alone?

She is on oxygen 24 7. She is always in a wheel chair also for the last several months. This summer she had both hips broken just weeks apart. She's a tough cookie.

She lives in an in-law suite built on my cousin's house. She and my grandfather sold their home and moved in with my cousin 3 years ago. My cousin in a former EMTand fire chief and his wife is a pediatric nurse. Someone is always home because they have two children (and one of them has special needs).

GREAT photos! And I have to ask, since I am not sure, is Sam your brother's child? Whoa they look a lot alike!
