Maltese tails...

Hi! Hope everyone had a good day!

I was just wondering, I noticed that most Maltese babies have their tails curved upwards towards their back. LB's just sticks out, is that unusual for this breed? Sometimes I wonder if she is pure Maltese. Not that it matters, I love her even if she was part monkey. But it's just something I've been curious about lately...

I believe it is called a "gay" tail
I have heard that some can have it curl over their back as a puppy and then have it straighten out towards maturity. Some maltese have different variances of how much they curl too. I have seen some curl over so tightly!

Kallie's curls over her back but the very tip has a kink in it, like a really tight kink:smlove2: :smlove2: .......puppymill kink! But I loves her sooooooooooooooo much!!

Aww LB I didn't mean to offend you. You have a very pretty tail and tooshie ;)
Chloe's tail isn't standard either. It curls but not as much as it should so it kinda looks like a hook.

Jodi, no offense taken:D honest! I was just quoting the "gay tail" part. LB and I are not offended at all! I appreciate your comment, I never knew it was called that. Jodi, believe me, it takes a lot to rattle LB's chains and mine too. Hugs to you:hug: :rose:

I personally don't look at the tail end of a dog first. IT"S the FACE that leaves the impression with me...........and you know I love LB's sweet face! But I will be glad when her hair grows out a little more! LOL:D

I LOVE Maltese tails!!!! I wish my yorkies had nice long ones! It have turmed so far off of docking anything now, nautral looks so much nicer (although the whole dewclaw issue as a groomer I do agree with that!)

I agree. I have 2 yorkies Boots with a docked tail and Missy with her full tail. U no when people comment on Missy they says look at her tail isnt it lovely. But i soppose different people like differunt things.......
