View Full Version : White Vinegar in Drinking Water
Have any of you heard about adding 1 tsp. of white vinegar to the drinking water to help control the staining of the eyes?
Also, have any of you used a rabbit's drinking bottle vs. a dish of water for your Maltese's water to prevent their faces from staining?
Thank You

We tried the rabbit's drinking bottle - Bucky just couldn't seem to get it right and it did cause a few drips on the floor after he was done.

I have heard of the vinegar in water & some people on here do use that method!
I want to change mine to the water bottle but am having a hard time finding a stand for the bottle over here so it has been added to my hubby's list of things to make:D

Yes, I have heard of the vinegar but it was suggested to me that it be the unfiltered vinegar you get at a health food store. And I did buy one of those drinking bottles but have not used it. It's mainly to keep the beard dry. It's on my "list" of things to do! LOL
I've been using the white vinegar in Babe's water the last few days starting w/ a 1/4 tsp. increasing to a tsp. He doesn't know it's in the water, and in fact seems to drink more water.
He is upset from teething. Water seems to soothe him.
Thank You

I swear by unfiltered APPLE CIDER VINEGAR from the health food store.
When Scrappy sees it go in his water he does drink more too.
There are many side benefits from APC. Not least is the changing of the PH in the tears.
I also dilute it and use it as a rinse to get all the shampoo out when bathing him. :D

Yes Bren was the one that told me about it and I promptly went out and bought it and the furkids have no problem drinking it! It was $5 a bottle but it was a quart and with just a teaspoon at a time ........... I'll have it for a long while! So well worth the investment.:D

I went to a dog show yesterday and there were Laser Lites products. I heard it from YT forum that a breeder who used this line didn't wrap his dogs anymore. I have made my research on this line. I have a chance to find this line from the dog show. Today I bathed Hanzo (my maltese) with Laser Lites stripping shampoo (a clarifying shampoo) and then I shampooed him with Lanolin shampoo and then I used Protein conditioner and add silk laser lites in it. I must say it made my job easier today coz the brush glided through Hanzo's hair so easily. All his matts goes away. If anyone who wants to know more about the result, I'll be happy to report you. This is my first time using this line, so I don't know yet the result in the futre. So far, Hanzo's hair becomes more white, shiny and softer. So I will keep you up-to-date if you want.
Laser Lites is a high quality product. IF you want to have a look at their products you can consult it through these sites

Mr Wookie prefers to drink from a bottle. We have a glass bottle at home and when we go out I have a plastic one for him.
Yet to try the ACV though, sure will though.
enJOY!

I'm using the cider vinegar in the water, too.
I have a bowl of water out and 2 water bottles. Most of the time they seem to prefer the bottles. I did buy one kind of bottle and it doesn't work well at all - you have to push really hard on the metal piece inside to get the water out. It's a Lixit bottle - the shorter, fatter one with purple coloring.
I was really surprised when my Yorkies decided to use the bottles so readily...

Unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar is what is recommended, you might give that a try :) It helps balance their ph and there are several benefits.
