So Ava's at the vet's getting spayed, 3 teeth pulled, and micro chipped.

I'm....sooooooooo upset! I have this huge knot in my stomach =C

I know she'll be fine and it's a normal surgery yadda yadda yadda but still, I just want to go steal her back before they hurt her =C.

And she wasn't in heat (obviously). It was our visiting pupper.

I think you are feeling the normal feelings we all feel!! I always worried until I was almost sick until I get the call from the vet that they made it through the surgery and are doing good. Then I feel a whole lot better when I have them in my arms with the tail wagging and warm fluff kisses on my face.

I am sure she will be fine and be feeling a lot better in a day or two......and she'll be soooooooooo glad to see you!!!!

I just called the vet. She's doing fine, resting in her cage, and I Can pick her up at 4. (I might slip out a bit early from work haha!)

And i wish i'll get kisses! Ava LOVES to kiss, except when she's sleepy. then she wants no part of it lol. If she's awake, she kisses whatever she can get to. (her favorite spots are in the ear and up the nose e.e)

Thanks! I snuck out of work half an hour early and Ava was sooooooooooooooooo happy to see me! She was wagging her tail all cute like ^_^ I nearly started to cry haha! She's now in her pen sleeping because she's still really tired, but I took some pictures of my lamp shade puppy.

The first ones are from this morning before we went to the vet

I know, you guys are probably so sick of me freaking out over every little thing, but is it normal for Ava to have had diarrhea? She didnt have anything to eat! if anything, the smallest amount of water.

I say if anything because i put an itty bit in her bowl and left it in her pen after 9 (like the vet said) I dont know if she drank because she wasn't interested in it at first and then i went to sleep. I woke up with the sound of her being sick.

ugh...she keeps giving me these "why did you let them do this to me Momma" look and i keep crying =C

I'm sure it's fine... just like when humans have surgery, sometimes our bodies need to adjust. I know after I have anesthesia, I'm sick as a dog (no pun intended lol). Her tummy is probably just upset because she hadn't eaten or drank anything since the day before and now she had a little bit of something, and it just went through her.

thanks! Ava's more alert today and even ate some food! She keeps letting out little wimpers though =C and it was a fight to give her the medicine (she doesnt like her mouth touched. (anywhere else is fine though)

when i took her lampshade off, she licked her stitches until i picked her up and put her infront of the food (she couldnt get at it with it on, which was funny to watch >D)

She sounds like she is well on the way to recovering!! YAY

I used a little neosporine with pain on the incision for my fluffs which seemed to help them keep from licking it. I never wore one of the victorian collars on any of the fluffs but then I could tend to them 24/7 and no outside stitches helped as well. It was also something that my dermatologist suggested I use when I had a mole removed. It does wonders. :)

hehe thanks! I should get some.

Ugh. I'm sick, so i took a nap because ava was napping, and while i was asleep, she woke up and pulled her cone off! I was going to kill her! And she keeps tossing her head trying to get if off, lil stinker =/

Idk if its worth it to buy one now but they have these blow up cones and go around the neck.. I'm not how to explain them or even what their called.. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

OpalescentFire

Yes this can be normal with the diarrhea especially after a procedure from the anesthesia, etc. and maybe from Ava being a little stressed. Also the throwing up can be part of it. See how she is in the next day or so with the diarrhea if it continues call your vet.

so i feel like an animal abuser =C Cuz Ava's been in her pen for 3 and a half days now. and she wants to PLAY. she doesn't get why she cant.

She came out a bit yesterday but wouldnt stay quiet and kept chasing Chester and Cribba around so..... =C

she knocked her cone off during the night again *sigh* and it was a fight to get her her medicine this morning (The amixi-drops...pink liquid) So now her face is pink, and i finally came up with the idea of putting it on a cookie and having her lick it off. >D

worked awesome. then she got to eat the cookie so she got whatever was absorbed ^^

it'll be -alot- easier to give it to her now =D

I don't know how her stitches are looking but if she is feeling better, I would give her some time outside the pen. You know when we have surgery, they want us up and walking soon after we have had the surgery. It sounds like she is feeling a whole lot better now and maybe just needs to get a little freedom. I'd still watch her carefully so she doesn't overtire herself or pull the stitching but it sounds like she is doing soooooooo much better!! YAY

yeah I let her out for a bit yesterday, but Cribba kept humping chester and he kept running away...which caused cribba to chase her and Ava kept getting under their feet and stuff so...maybe today when I get home from work (our refugees are watching Ava for me ^^)

The vet said to keep her quiet though, which is hard because she's ADHD puppy.
