Just want to know what kind of shampoo are you guys using for your maltese? My Frosty is 9 weeks and I bought the Perfect Coat, but is it good or is there something better? Also when do they start to teeth? Thanks~

Seems I have acquired every type of shampoo under the sun and so I have a selection that seems endless. Some are dog products and some are human products. Guess my favorite is the Coat Handler and Pantene products. I think also you have to consider the "type" of coat they have as to which product works best. I do use Bio-groom tearless whitening or some other tearless shampoo for around the eyes. I also use minksheen on my Yorkie but would never use it on my maltese. I also have some Bioinfusion Shampoo/conditioner combo with olive oil that I use on my "poofy" maltese and it has helped tremendously with calming of her hair. I also use conditioners at the grooming table after they are bathed. If you use good products when they are young, you should have a nice coat when they get older. All my maltese came with a degree of damage to their coat as they were all older when I adopted. Also good grooming tools make a big difference in the coat and hair breakage.
Teething? Well all my maltese were well past the teething age when we adopted them but my yorkie was six months old when he started to lose his baby teeth; hope that helps.

Ava started losing hers around 4 months. She's now 6 months and all her adult teeth are in or coming in(She did have to have 3 pulled though)
as for shampoo? I use Dungeness Ranch Puppy shampoo and conditioner. I liked the smell of it. lol. And it makes Ava soft and fluffy (She has really fine hair) And I'll probably continue to use it when she's an adult, though, I'm sad they dont make a shampoo for white dogs =C

At 9 weeks old, I wouldn't give many baths. I use a few different things on my puppies. Fluffy PUppy by Biogroom, anything by Nature' Specialty (it's safe for puppies also) I'm not familiar with the shampoo you mentioned but if you bought it at Petsmart, I would look for something else! I also like Suave's kids 2:1 shampoo.
Good luck with your baby!

I use Johnson and Johnson baby shampoo all over. Mitzy has REALLY soft cottony fur and tangles easy (well when her hair passes a certain point, but I keep her fairly short) I also use Mane and Tail conditioner but not every bath. I switch between the Biolage (for people) and the M&T.

I am also a big fan of the Bless the Beast shampoo. I use the puppy formula on my pup and the Detangling one on my older pup Zo zo. They do smell great and work well.:D
Be careful though if you have a dog with allergies. I highly recommended the products to a good friend and unfortunately, it made his already itchy little lady even worse.:(

I was just using regular blue shampoo from the pet stores, really liked a brand called Babydog and then went on a Maltese website that sells their own shampoo. This website is Malteseonly.com and bought into the hype of their own brand of shampoo and this stuff is really pretty good. Don't much like the conditioner much, I like fur butter much better.
My neice is a groomer and we will be going with her to another breeder convention soon. I hope to get samples and try them out. I went with her last year before I had Lulu.
