Turtle in tummy!!!!!!!!

:turtle: A Golden Retriever swallowed a palm-sized pet turtle. A 12 year girl had moved her pet pond turtles indoors to protect them from a cold snap. She put them in the bathtub and when she checked on them, one was missing. Their vet told them to make the dog vomit, and when it did, out came the turtle, alive!! It had been in the dog's stomach for est. 10 minutes. The shell was shattered. The vet patched up the shell and he credits the girl with saving her dog's life. The turtle would have caused an obstruction. Without cutting it out directly, it would eventually have killed her dog.

That is so bizarre - Good thing they realized that the dog had to have taken the turtle instead of thinkng it had just gotten out.

Isn't it weird what they will eat? When I was growing up we had a collie and she would eat toads. :tongue6: So glad that the Golden Retreiver and the turtle are both ok.

yep...my hubby loves turtles...we even have a red ear slider named Melvin. You can guess this shocked us!;)

Whole story is just .... ODD! Glad they are okay though.
