I see that a lot of you offer doggie fashion and accessories. I do machine embroidery. Does anyone know of a site where I could find pretty Maltese designs? I also do beading and I am starting to adventure into doggie jewelry. I'll let you know how it turns out.

I am saving for an embroidery machine. It's my next big purchase. Sorry I have no idea where to get the designs. I want that embroidery machine that lets you download images from the internet or use scanned images. You could put your own dog on things.

That is the newest Husqvarna Viking Designer machine. I think I want to get that one. Although I could get the software to do the same with mine. I have the Husqvarna Rose and all of the software and read/writer. I download things from the internet all of the time and read/write it to my machine, but I can't scan things and embroider them. Right now that Designer machine is on sale for $7100. (includes the software, a cabinet and a chair + a $500. shopping spree)It is a good deal if you want to spend that much money. They also have 12 months no interest. My machine is only about 18 months old and so I hate to ask my husband about a new machine so soon. I paid $2800. for my machine with the software. Maybe I should try to sell the machine and then buy the new one. With your clothing business you probably would sew a lot with it. That new machine will let you sew without removing the embroidery stuff. With mine I have to remove the embroidery unit before doing other sewing. I do not do any real sewing anyway. I use it for embroidery only. They are nice machines. Let me know if you get one.

I'm hoping to wait a while and find one that someone has pre used. Hopefully get it a little cheaper. I'm not in a rush, I'm busy as I need to be at the moment.
What kind of things do you embroider? I'm always interested in other people's craftiness.

Sorry it took so long to get back with you.
I embroider all sorts of things. I just a couple of weeks ago downloaded a design, customized it and did a "read write" into my machine's program. Then I embroidered 2 shirts for my brother-in-law. He retired from the postal service and is starting his own business, so I made a couple of shirts with his business name on them as retirement gifts.
My niece is having a baby in Oct. so I found out her nursery theme and colors and downloaded designs, combined them, customized them with the baby's name, did a "read write" into my machines program and embroidered the designs on some baby blankets. They turned out so cute and she loved them. Said they were her favorite gift of all, because of the baby's name being on them. ahhhhh!
I took a pair of girls jeans unstitched the crouch layed it flat and restitched the crouch like making a skirt. Cut them off stitched the bottom and made a purse. Took the babk pocket off and embroidered a butterfly on it and then reattached it to the back of the jeans. Whew!!! Then made new belt loops to hold the handle, lined the purse. So cute!!!!
I've embroidered pants, shirts, and other items for family members. Also, made my mom's Maltese a little pillow with her name and a teddy bear on it. Embroidered a grill apron for my brother with all sorts of cutsie grill jokes on it ie chef burning steaks. Also, embroidered two aprons for different friends with grapes and wine names on them. I done lots of things.
Ohmygosh.....got any new ideas. haha

Wow, you keep very busy. And such creative and thoughtful ideas! I'm sure your niece was just thrilled to receive a personalized gift for the baby. And the purse sounds adorable! The ideas are endless what you can do with a machine like that. I am envious. I can't wait until I can afford one of my own.

There are countless websites that offer machine embroidery designs. Of course they offer them for sale, but they also have many, many, designs that you can download for free. Even use them on items you sell, you just can't claim them as your own designs. Whenever I download the free stuff I always stitch it on a scrap piece of fabric before putting it on a good item. Some of the free stuff is done by beginners but thus far I have not had anything turn out really bad. I had one design that repeated itself three times so it came out very thick. So I sat right there and stopped the machine after the first go around. Also, by doing a test run I can see exactly what stitches in each color change; therefore, I can make it any color I choose. You will have lots of fun with the machine. Chloe will be the best dressed little girl around.
