Hello,
Just joined the forum and wanting to share some photos of our new puppy. We are from Australia. She is 15 weeks.

She is a bundle of joy but has a bad habit of biting and nipping. I'm trying out some of the tips I've read from the site. At this stage, still doing it, but improving.

HI AND WELCOME TO MALTESE TALK MINNIE AND ANNIE

Glad you joined the forum and my oh my what a beautiful little baby you have..........a darling little face and wonderful coat!!! I so look forward to watching her grow and hearing all about her little special "ways" that bring you delight.

The nipping and biting comes with being a pup and with teething. I am sure with time and with patient correction, she will be broken of the habit in no time at all. They are such smart little fluffs and learn quickly.

CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR NEW MALTESE, MINNIE!

What a face on Minnie! She is absolutely adorable. May I suggest using a harness on her instead of a collar? The little ones have problems with their tracheas so collars aren't always a good thing on the tiny ones.

I don't know much about the nipping as I never really went through that but I know it is a puppy thing. The other ladies will have good advice.

Welcome and please keep the pictures coming!

Hi Everyone,
Thank you all for your kind words.

Those photos were taken when we just brought her home at 8 weeks. I know in the US you can only bring puppies home when they are over 12 weeks, but in Australia it's 8. Not sure why the big difference. She's much bigger now. She was born on the 30/Jan, 2009. We bought her from a registered breeder.

We were using a cat collar because we couldn't find anything small enough for her. I think she was only 1kg when we bought her. Now she has doubled her weight.

Now that she is bigger we can get her a more suitable collar or the harness type which I think will be more comfortable as she goes crazy when we take her for a walk.

We are so proud of her as she has already learned fetch, sit and hand. She is 80% toilet trained. She will only pee inside when we don't take her outside or she feels lazy. She will also pee inside when we don't go with her as she won't get a treat if we don't see her do it!!! I will have to work a way around this as I don't want to take her everytime in the future.

I have been reading this forum for some time and decided to join because I got some really good advise from other forum members and all your pups look gorgeous.

I'm trying to keep Minnie in a long coat not sure how much work it will be.
