Have you ever bred a dog before? There are alot of things to consider if you want to breed. The cost of taking care of the pregnant dogs, the vet bills, the supplies needed for birth and raising the pups until at least 10-12 weeks. You have to consider the prospects of not selling all the pups. Are you going to be able to keep the pups until you find them good homes?
Are your pups of good health? Do you know the background of the parents of your pups and their health? You don't want to pass on any inherited problems to the pups.
I wish you only the best if you are doing this for the right reasons. There are so many homeless pups that need a good home.
Talk to your vet about the time frame needed for the girls to get pregnant.
If you do it, I give you alot of credit. I don't think I could have the patience to do that.

The breeder of my next puppy who is a show dog breeder of many years standing just recently had to have an emergency C section performed on her dog and only one puppy of the two survived. Are you prepared for that sort of heartache and cost?

My family bred Australian champion show beagles when I was growing up , I could tell you some absolute horror stories about breeding and the costs involved if anything goes wrong . As the mother of 2 rescues , I also find the indiscriminate breeding of pet Maltese unnecessary and ill advised . Sarah

Why are you interested in breeding your female maltese dogs? For personal additions to your home, money or some other reason??? Are your females "showdog quality" or just "good pets."
For me, the reason and the quality of your dog's background and your financial ability to care for any pups would be something to consider.

I would have to advise against breeding. To even ask such a question shows you have no experience and no mentor to guide you with breeding dogs, let alone Maltese.
Please reconsider.
