Rescued 7 maltese and 4 yorkies

I have been MIA due to last week I was contacted by a lady that said she had 10 maltese dogs to give away..so of course I had to try to help..long story short I drove 158 miles one way with my 16 yr old granddaughter and pulled these little guys from a puppymill it was the first time I have ever done anything like this and the kennel was not as bad as what I have seen in the news but far from being a good place. But, I ended up loading up all 11 dogs I was able to get the 4 yorkies and 2 maltese into a local rescue so I still have 5 maltese and I am working with a couple other local rescues to get these guys into foster homes. Before I left this lady said she just couldn't get them house trained and spanking them didn't work GRRR she also told me that the kennel she got them from had more than 200 dogs and she knew they would want to give more away.

Some of these 11 dogs had microchips and they gave me some papers with the numbers I took them all to my vet as soon as we got back to my town and checked the chips (I want to try to get ages) however, none of the papers matched the chips in the dogs.

This was a real experience for me and my granddaughter

Good for you Belinda for stepping in and helping these babies out of a horrible situation. Maybe they can't physical say thank you, but I can. Thanks for helping give these angels a shot at a better life. The world needs more people like you in it.

Oh Belinda you are such an angel to these and all the dogs that you rescue. I remember little sprout so very well. I think that is where you really became serious about wanting to save as many as possible. Thank you for what you do. I myself cannot do it again. I lost part of me when I lost my Ezekiel (a rescue). I still have baby, my geriatric girl. And when she I know without a doubt a part of me will go with her also.

Wow, Belinda, sounds like you have a full house of wonderful white fluffs.........thanks for taking your time, energy and love for dogs and taking that trip and rescuing them. You certainly have your hands full but I am sure it will be very rewarding in the end to know that you have helped some needy fluffs find forever homes and out of the "wicked" spanking woman's clutches. Good for you!!! I tip my hat to you!

Thanks guys for your kind words..My biggest problem right now is I can't decide which ones I will be able to foster for the rescue I work with they will cover vet bills on their fosters so I have a very hard decision to make in the next few days. The dogs range from 1 to 8 yrs old and between 6 and 8 lbs they are adjusting really well in a short time...pray we can find them all good loving forever homes

Thank your for the offer I live in Arkansas but I am now down to 3 and one of those 3 I will be keeping with me she is very afraid but is coming along well she is the one that had ARDAG (Arkansas Dept of Agriculture) tattooed in her hear I believe I can find homes for the other 2 if not CRA the rescue I work with will foster them thanks again

What kind of leashes, Belinda???? Great that you were able to find homes for the fluffs so quickly so that it didn't stress you...........can we see a picture of the one you will be keeping???

They are needing mostly small dog step in harnesses and leashes for small dogs

Sheena is the one I will foster she is very afraid of everything and I have not heard her bark once they worries me I have heard awful stories about bakring dogs in mills..She took a treat from my hand for the first today...Yeah progress.

Hand me downs or new CRA would be most grately...on Tues another member pulled 3 maltese from a shelter so we are getting very full.

All dogs have been placed in foster homes or forever homes except Gertie and Sheena...I will keep Sheena to work on her fear of people she is making progress but slow..last night she took a treat from my hand, I have never heard her bark and I have had her for a week.

CRA and I want to thank each of you that donated harnesses and leashes ...each time a dog is adopted CRA sends out and adoption package with items for the dog like the harness and leash food bowls, toy, CRA t-shirt etc.

It sickens me that these monsters post pictures of these adorable pups and they say they area from the New York area and then when they email you back ironically they are all either helping out the poor in Cameroon Africa and yes one even is now located in Turkey. So of course you would now have to pay to have your pup shipped from these locations. I am interested in a young female to love. I would love to be able to adopt someone that is in need of loving and a good home. I await anxiously a reply.

Hi Kathy and welcome to MT I am the one that pulled the 11 dogs from a mill and I beg you to please check out the Maltese Rescues in your area...do not fall for the Kijiji Scams if you will just even look on petfinder for maltese they have all ages there and you would be doing a great thing by giving one of them a home..But, if you have never had a maltese let me warn you they are like lays potato chips you can't just have one lol

Rescues are a great place to start looking for a maltese. I have three rescues and they are wonderful dogs. Most rescues are really good about getting the fluffs up to date with shots, making sure they are healthy or at least that you know of any problems they may have and prices are reasonable. Of course if money is not an issue then there are many good breeders out there too. Also many breeders retire some of the females after showing and breeding them...........some retire at two years but most at four. I know one thing for sure, if you find an ad that says they just want you to pay for the shipping from another country, it is most likely a scam so RUN RUN RUN!!!!!

And Belinda is right, once you get a maltese, you will be in love with the breed for EVER!!!

I am no angel but these sweet spirits deserved a fighting chance...I just in the last month adopted out the 1 maltese that had been the most traumatized and I get weekly reports on her from her new mom and she is doing great!!! I do go by and see her on occasion just to make sure she is doing well!!
