Yorkie talk is a much more active location. I am assuming since they are both set up the same way, they are run by the same people. If this is true, is there any chance that the two will be combined? I post much more on yorkietalk because this site is so inactive. Just a thought.

I post to YT too, I actually found that forum first because I had my yorkie Olivia. I got so much help from the ppl there on how to care for her - I had never had a yorkie before. After she died, I continued posting there because everyone was so kind and encouraging with helping me deal with Olivia's death. Then I started looking for another fluff and when I found Gracie's ad on petfinder classifieds, I immediately tried to find a similar forum for Maltese. I am soooo glad I found MT - I just love reading and learning about the breed, as well as sharing stories, pictures and making new friends. :hearter:
I still go to YT frequently to "see" ppl I've come to know, to look at the adorable pics and also to look at what their vendors are offering, as well as what other posters might be offering for sale, since clothing sizes and styles, bows etc. for both yorkies and maltese are so similar. And of course - to check the Rescues & Rehomes forum for new posts....you just never know when the perfect (for me) little yorkie face might be right there waiting for me! ;)
So for me, I don't mind going to both forums...I'm not sure why there is more activity on YT than MT (maybe it's just been around longer? or maybe there are more yorkie owners than maltese owners?) - I would guess that others with more time here will be able to answer that. I have certainly met a lot of nice ppl on MT and have learned a lot about the maltese breed.

Several of us are members of both forums. We are much more close knit on this forum probably because there are less members. Not as much drama either like on YT because most of us respect each other's views and agree to disagree and move forward.

I was a member on YT first because of my yorkie, Toby. Then found that there was a maltese site (sister site to YT) and joined to learn about the maltese breed and to help better care for my maltese, Kallie. Well, wouldn't you know it but now I have three maltese and one yorkie. I do visit YT for sales, newbie welcomes and keeping in touch with some good friends that I have made there that are members here but they feel a little odd being that they don't have a maltese. But I continue to hound them to come and visit and give input on other things and most of us here on MT own multiple breeds. But you certainly do not need to own a maltese to be a member or participate in the discussions.
Maggie said it all!! I totally agree with her about MT and hope they never decide to combine the two. We are small but growing and it is great to have a small community where drama has just about been eliminated. I love MT and hope you stick around and help build the forum and give us your input on things.

I dont know if I would like YT and MT to join together.
that'll be to much drama for me:D
I too, am a YT member since 2005. I still go there to read and shop around.
but I hardly post there. I feel like my post get ignore due to high volume of threads make in second.
In MT, everyone will response to your post.
We're like small group of online family and friends.
But I wouldnt mind having MT grow as long its doesnt get like YT...:D

I am not a member of YT because I have two Maltese, but I just wanted to say "amen" to what the others have said. We are like a family and I have learned so much from these wonderful ladies and John (and not always just about how to take care of my girls).

I hope YT and MT never combine, I love our close little group and value the friendships I have made here.
I am owned by a Malt, Shiddie and Chi and everyone of my babies (including pur babies) is more than welcomed and adored by everyone here.

I am also a member of both sites and I love MT so much more than YT. I don't like all the drama that goes on over there and here we are a family. I have made some really wonderful friends that I would not have known if the site was larger like it is on YT.
Glad to have you here and hope you hang around to discover what we all love about this place.

I am a member also of YT , I like the fact you can say pretty much anything over there, but I love it here cause it's small we know eachother and usually if we disagree, we move on and it's over..
