Posh in the pool

It was really nice out this weekend and we put the dogs in the pool for the 1st time this year. Posh loved it on the raft. She was a little nervous when we held her in the water but I think she is going to end up loving the pool!

Well I am not sure if Pika likes it or not. She scared me big time yesterday. She was on the raft and the next thing you know, she is under the water. She fell off the raft and when she came up she just started to doggie paddle her little heart out. My heart dropped when I saw that! Joel grabbed her quickly and she seemed ok. She was shivering and I don't know if it was cold or fear. We put a towel out and she laid in the sun to dry off and took a nap. She seemed fine. I guess we will see how she acts the next time she is near the pool.

Mine are very cautious around it. They may go to the sides and look in but have no desire to go in...........I don't know if Buffy will go in yet as she hasn't tried. The others nearly freeze up when I pick them up near the pool. I don't know if it is the concept of something moving as the pool has jets or if they have had a bad experience with water before we adopted them.

I'm wondering how Gracie will feel about the pool - ours hasn't been warm enough to even try it yet, all this rain keeps the water cooler. :p

We did try the life jacket and of course my batteries went dead so no pics. We didn't let her go, she was a little unsure on what was going on. I think she is going to love it in the pool once she gets use to it. Now I need to get a life vest for the other 2!

Cute pictures. You know dogs can swimm. It's natural for them. Pika was probably scared because she reacted to your scare. Dogs drown in swimming pools because they cannot get out not because they can't swimm.
