Oh NO!!!! when did this happen I didn't see that anywhere?

Of course I will be sending prayers for him....

Is this the same Boo that has just gotten a new sister? Not that I know Sue personally but I hate to hear of any dog that is ailing. :(

Sorry for all the questions I was just stunned to see there are no posts about this

Yes Sue got a beautiful retired show girl her name is Hannah. I feel terrible, Sue is a great person and Boo is a Maltese that I have always admired. I can't stop thinking of them and I am praying all goes well:cry2: :cry2:

Andrea--just saw this thread for the 1st time!!! My prayers are with Sue and Boo too.
Hopefully they caught it in time.
My Max had the same condition and thank God we got him to the vet in time. It was touch and go for awhile, but Max was a true fighter his whole life and he beat it. Boo can do it too.

Hi Everyone, Sue wrote me an email this is some of what she said:"Boo still doesn't seem any better this morning. He won't even drink the Rebound today. He has an appt this afternoon for another shot & more bloodwork, I'll let you know later how it goes". She ()Sue) wanted me also to Thank everyone for keeping Boo in your prayers, she was so grateful.
She has never even feed Boo table food so it is hard to imagine how this happened , she also said it might have been
meaty rawhide that caused Boo to get sick. He probably ate too much of it & maybe it was too hard to digest & caused his Pancreas to over react.
So girls please dont give this rawhide, I never did and never well, I just never liked it.. Please continue to keep them both in your thoughts.. You girls are amazing and I thank you much..:smlove2: :smlove2:
Love,
ANDREA~

Thanks for the update. Poor Boo. Are rawhide chews high in fat/protein I wonder:confused:

Poor Baby I am keeping him in my thoughts.

This must be so tough on them all. Particularly when you are being so careful with your dog's diet and still something happens :(

Yes this is why she was so upset, cause she never gives Boo table food, so they think it's cause of the rawhide..Poor Boo and Sue:(

Boo's blood test showed that his Pancreas is back in the normal range now.:cheer: :cheer: :cheer: . He will have to stay on lowfat food & treats for the rest of his life. He will also have to be tested for diabetes in a couple of mths. as his Pancreas could be scarred, but that too is a precaution. The vet is expecting him to recover.
She wanted me to thank you all for your prayers ....
See what prayers can do, I am so happy and relieved:smlove2:

Thanks So Much,
ANDREA~

I am so glad to hear Boo's bloodwork is showing that he is back with in normal range.

I think when we are so darn careful our babies bodies aren't conditioned for change.

Like that raw hide is probably what caused this, yet I am sure if he had of had some of those treats before it wouldn't have been such a shock.

example, When I went on a strick diet to lose the baby weight after my kids I cut out all fats and Carbs and ate lean only. Then when I was back to the weight I was happy with I treated myself to a big steak and fries at the Hogs Breath Cafe ( resturant) and I had the runs and was so sick. WHY, cause my body wasn't used to eating it and it was rejecting it.

I think the same thing happens to our furkids. I NEVER feed mine from the table or anything like that, but after a BBQ I will cut up some small pieces of steak as a treat and only a very little amount ( make them sit, stay etc, like training). This would only happen about once a month maybe.

So by denying them these treats, are we causeing more harm than good, in the long run if by chance they did get hold of something like this and there bodies have NEVER had it could we make them very sick.

I just wonder, I know with our bodies, if we cut out fat for a while and then eat it, our bodies react badly.

Just a thought.

Boo is feeling better today. The shots he got yesterday helped him a lot. The test results she said so far have all been normal. Boo is allowed to eat a tiny bit today. I pray that he doesn't vomit. If he does, Sue has to take him back for another shot.:( Im praying so hard For Boo & Sue.....
Please continue to pray for them, they don't deserve this ..:(
Thanks Everyone..

That is a very good point Bek.

My hubby and I have been discussing and doing some research and debating this theory for the past week.....
