It may be a silly question, but I was just wondering if pee pads stain their coat?

The pads are never left soaked and changed often.

Pee pads? The ones that are put on the floor? No.

No, pee pads will not stain your fur baby.

Mine are indoor trained on pee pads and I have never had a problem. However, my girls "hike" their leg up almost like a boy as to not get themselves wet which I think is funny. Do all girls do this? It just cracks me up...

Loulou doesn't do that.
She tends to stay around after she pees, so I try to immediately change the pads.

The problem is that she came with this nasty yellow stain on legs, lower hair because she was "paper" trained at the breeder's house.
The breeder uses newspaper before print to train them, which turns yellow when wet.... yikes....

I guess I need to be patient and wait till it grows....

If she has yellow staining on her lower legs it is probably because you need to trim her little wick a little. If it is too long they will pee on themself and if it is too short they will pee on themself. If you check her immediately after she pees you can tell if the inside of the lower legs are wet. If so you might want to trim the inside of her hind legs and her little wick. Hope this helps.

I change them right away, so Nemo never even has a chance to get stained if he could. :D

So, that's basically what I did this past weekend.
I trimmed the most I can on her back legs and around her belly and I try to watch her as much as I can when she goes....

I also change the pads continously....(!!!) I already finished 150 pads in less than 2 weeks. The pad company must be really happy right now!

That's so funny! My Ginger does that too! I always thought it was weird! I thought she was the only girl dog who does that! HAHA! Glad to know I'm not alone!

Also, My Ginger is trained on peepee pads too, but I haven't noticed any staining at all, unless she accidentally sits or steps on her pee, then her fur becomes yellow and I'd have to wash her immediately!

My girl Daisy has always used pee pads because she only weighs 4lbs and doesn't really like to go in the snow. Although she too kind of lifts her right paw  she has never had stains. And wow 150 pads in 2 weeks!! I change the pad once a day or allow 3-4 pees on it.
