View Full Version : Miss Emma was spayed yesterday...

...and I felt like the world's worst mama having to leave her at the vet's yesterday morning! She was looking at me like, where are you going without me?? Little did she know what would happen next! She also was getting 8 teeth pulled because she's getting new ones without losing any and turning into a little piranha puppy! My only other pet, my little 7 year old Netherland Dwarf bunny, had died Thursday morning, so dealing with losing him and then having to leave Em at the vet for surgery the next morning, I was a mess! But everything went fine and she seems to be doing OK - she's just a little droopy and walking pretty slow. It's making her mad, too. She can't keep up with me in the house. By the time she catches up to me in one room, I've moved on to another, and then she sits and squeals. She has quite the attitude - both the vet and the groomer call her the "little drama queen"...

So sorry to hear about your bunny.........some might think, well it was "just" a bunny but I know how easy it is to get attached to our little family members and losing them is hard and emotionally draining. And then to top it off with having Emma spayed, you must have been a wreck yesterday! I am glad to hear that she is recovering and doing well. She will be fine in a few days and if she seems to lick or being bothered with it ( healing stage ), I always used a little neosporin w/ pain ........ just a small amount to help it along in healing and with the pain.
I don't think Emma is the first drama queen on the forum, so she will be added to the list!!! Poor thing, she sounds like such a mama's baby! Nothing wrong with that! :)

I am so sorry to hear about your bunny :( I too lost a little bunny about 7yrs ago, he was just beautiful and we all loved him so so much.
So to be dealing with that and taking Emma in to be spayed must have been very hard on you.
Your not the worst mummy, your the opposite, your a very loving responsible mummy for taking your little girl in to be spayed, so many people don't:(.
I am sure Emma will be fine with in no time at all, and befor you know it you will be trying to get her to take things slow LOL.
All the best to you and precious Emma:hearter:

Thanks - yes, he was my little buddy and I loved him. He was the only pet that I'd had since I was just a little girl, until I got Emma in April. He was older and he'd been sick, but it's still hard to say goodbye. And then worrying about Emma the next day - let's just say that my productivity at work the last couple of days dropped considerably, I'm sure!!
Attaching a couple of pics of my first little baby...he was a pound and a half of fluff and attitude!

Ohh I'm sorry you lost your little bunny. I know we take it harder then the fluffs when we drop them off to get neutered/spayed. I felt like I was betraying them leaving them unsuspecting to what was coming.:o They tend to bounce back pretty quick though. I would try to have her confined a bit so her stitches won't bother her and don't worry all of mine are drama queen and kings.:o
