We had been playing Monopoly and he was just exhausted...exhausted, I tell you!
He is about four now and so sweet.

They do get sooooooo attached!!!! I have one maltese that is velcroed to the husband.......goes every where he goes. My yorkie is the one that has to know exactly where I am at all times. The other two are a bit more independent. Makes for a nice variety!

Do Yorkies get mats the way Maltese do?
I was reading on here earlier, and someone recommended cornstarch, so I picked some up. I pretty much comb him, every time he's in my lap.

My yorkie does not matt but he does get snarls. I have long hair myself and when I ride with the car windows down, my hair tends to get snarls in them and he gets those sort of snarls but I do brush daily so matts and snarls are kept at a minimum. I think it is great if you have a "daily" routine with him as it makes the grooming time much easier and relaxed when they are use to it. As far as the corn starch goes, it is for keeping the hair dry and I have also heard that it helps with the matts. Let me know how it works for you. :)

yep, they get rotten easy. They are so darn cute that you can't help spoiling them. My Zippy is a handful, but she is so good natured and so loving.

I have one that does that too :p
LOL! When I wake up in the morning, he comes right to me to "greet" me, as he sleeps with me......he's so sweet. He's really more human than dog!
I guess that's why Maltese are so popular! They are so attuned to humans!

I have had several breeds in my lifetime. I have loved them all. Once I bought my first maltese though, she grabbed my heartstrings and it was over lol. She knew my moods, and was so responsive. Over the years, she turned into literally a best friend. When I lost her, I thought that I would never get over it.
They are amazing to me. I love a dog that thinks.

You have just one of them that does that, I have four that think they need to sit there and wait for me. You just never know when I am going to climb out the window or the toilet is going to eat me. :lol2::lol2::lol2:

Toby (yorkie) follows me everywhere and never can I get out of his sight. Now the girls will only stay in the bathroom with me when I shower, guess cause they know I'm going to be in their for a while. I guess because I am always on the go except when I am at the computer, they get tired following me around. LOL My one maltese, Brandy, is my alarm clock. She is a 6:30AM fluff. She starts out by panting and if that does not wake me up, then she moves on to digging with her paw at my head! THAT always wakes me up.
These fluffs are such heart grabbers; no doubt about it. Own a maltese and own one for life!!!! What a joy they are to have in your life!!!

LOL, last night when my husband took a shower, he said Jinxie waited outside the door for him, too! Ha!
He likes my husband a lot and wants attention from him, but I'm really his favorite. :D

You know the fellow that cuts my hair told me the same thing . He has 4 dogs now all types but the Maltese is the one that reads your soul like no other breed. He is the one who told me to get a malt. I grew up with poodles, this is my first Maltese (2weeks now) and we are hooked. I think I want more.
