How often do you give your dog treats?

Just curious at how treats are used... ie as part of the daily diet or to reward good behavior or as a training aid.

We use treats with Jack's training and each day if he has been a good boy during the day when he's home babysitting his daddy.
When we started the NB Potato/Duck food we also bought the treats that go along with it by NB.
Jack does get one special treat every morning when I leave for work. I fill his small Kong with one Kong cookie and a squirt of his doggie peanut butter. He goes crazy for that and I just walk out the door and he's left quite busy and he doesn't even notice that we're not there. On the weekends he doesn't get the Kong treat.

They get treats as a reward (potty outside, good during brushing, cutting nails, etc) or as a training aid (sit, stay, come, etc).:D

I voted for "when I get the look", which is usually right before I leave for work, and right after I get home at the end of the day.:D

Paris thinks she has to have a treat EVERY time she goes outside...she will go out for maybe 10 seconds and then thinks she has to have a treat. There are times when we are playing and she will look up at the coffee table, back at me, back at the coffee table to let me know she needs a treat.

Rarely , I don't want a fat pet . Henry is prone to treat addiction. The other 3 are fussy and Henry would eat his treat and EVERYONE elses. Sarah:maltese2:

I used them for training & for rewards:D i tend to break up the treat into smaller pieces to make it go a loooooooong way!

I guess daily. But not many times a day really. Usually she chews on a Dingo she has lying around or if she doesn't have one I will give her a new one. And she always gets an all natural chicken jerky before bed. As she won't go to bed before she gets it.:p

They get treats daily, but they're healthy treats only :) They get watermelon, little pieces of green apples (peeled), yogurt (for their health), stuff like that :)

We give Chip treats for doing good things like when he goes in his crate, when he does his tricks, etc... then my family is just a sucker for his cute little face!
