Dixie is off to the groomers for a shave. She is wrestling outside with Sasha and getting leaves and who knows what in her coat... and she is a tangled up mess!!!
I love her hair...but I think a puppy cut will do better till she gets a little older. Hopefully by the time it grows out things will go better.
I need some picture suggestions on a cut...I still want to be able to use a bow though.
Any help out there????:confused:

LoL I like to keep the head hair and ears long as they take forever and I mean forever to grow compared to the coat.
The same with the tail too ..... that also grows slowly.
I suggest finding a picture of a cut you like or a combination of pictures of different cuts and show them to your groomer that way it is easier to describe what you are wanting.
Don't forget to post before and after pictures :)

I am a long haired freak!
So I'm not giving any suggestions for whacking the hair off into any kind of cut!:mad:
Just kidding, your dog and your work in keeping it long but I am not kidding about being a long-haired freak! I even keep my hair long!

Oh I am sick for having to do it...but I spend most of the night combing tangles, pulling leaves out...EVERY NIGHT! I think she is too puppy for grown up hair:tongue4:

I have a similar problem when the leaves fall from the trees so I truly have total empathy for you. The Elm tree leaves stick like super glue to their fur. But I love the long look and will continue to put up with the leaves. Actually, the kids bring a lot of leaves in with each potty and I deposit it them into a wastebasket I keep on the lanai..........so I have two of the cutest leaf picker uppers you have ever seen. Now that's looking on the positive side of the fur picking up leaves!! :tongue6:
Tangles and mats???? Well, I don't seem to have that to deal with if I brush "EVERY" day......which I do faithfully! Cuts back on time and effort and frustration for the grooming process.

Oh...it is bad...she rolls around with Sasha and the junk she is getting into is twisting around in he coat. I figured she would've cleaned the yard by now.:tongue5: Oh well...I love her anyways!!
I would like to have some pictures also of some cuts. I have an appointment tomorrow with my groomer just to get Bella groomed, she is only 7 months old and her top knot has not grown out yet, just 2 inches long. I was thinking about getting her a puppy cut for the summer but leave her ears, head and tail longer. What do you think???? Any suggestions anyone???

:) I finally found a GREAT groomer! Thats what I did a puppycut , leave the face, ears and tail, but I shaved the topknot, Nemo looks wonderful and it's so easy to bathe him..

:p No No , that isn't Nemo I got that from the site, he looks exactly like that though, I like the boys like that..I was dying to try that cut, but I was scared.It worked out well he looks like a puppy now..

:) No, I bought him from a petstore, that is just my user name, I loved it at the time I picked it.. Well actually it was Finding Nemo, and then a friend (Whitney) suggested I found nemo so I loved it and kept it..

I've been thinking about getting Misha cut for summer. I'll have to find another groomer, the one I have now won't do it. She's afraid I won't be happy.

You can go to manage attachments that will bring you to Browse and hit Browse and it will bring you to your computer pictues then you hit open and it will post, do u know how to do that?

LOL, Carol you are hilarious! You should know that LB's hair is growing quite fast. I will post soon. I promise not to chop off anymore :) All our babies are adorable no matter what cut.:luv:

some dogs look so cute with short hair and some dogs look beautiful with long hair :(
when donbi has her haircut the usually long face long tail short body, i love it!
everyone agrees she looks great!
but dueci and daeroni cant have short hair, they need long or puppy cut hairs.

Both of my babies have SHORT hair, I love it. It is alot easier for my life style and they look so darn cute.
I luv all the fluffbutts no matter how there hair is cute. I do love long hair, but with my life it isn't practical.

It has been 3 days since Bella's puppy cut and I really think it is cute on her now, she looks a little fluffier and she seems really happy with it also and now I can feel her warm pink skin now when I hold her and hug her:hug:. Guess I am getting use to it. A girlfriend of mine told me that her maltese has already had her second cut cause it has grown so fast. Just wanted to share an update on Bella's new cut, I will try to post some pics of her as it grows out (if I can :confused:).

I know what you mean it takes awhile for it to settle in , but after it looks great.After you give her a bath you will see it will look even better, I know I do with Nemo

Carol, I know you luv all fluffs short or long hair no matter what. Your babies look beautiful with there long hair and if I had the time, I would probably grow my babies hair.
Yes you do know my life style, VERY VERY well, and understand 100% why having my babies cut short is practical for me and my family.
I have a thing for girl malts in full coat, I just think they are so pretty and beautiful. It must be a GIRL thing ( wink wink wink)

OK Carol I am going to try to grow Chipper's hair out again. I have tried before but his coat is very difficult to maintain. With kids and work it is hard but I like it long too. So we will see what happens. Maybe this will keep you from fainting again.:)

Well, Kallie has quite a loooong and luuuush topknot!!! First, the type of bands(latex) the dentist uses for baces are the best and can be bought from many websites. Below is the one I use. Secondly I use wraps from Sally Beauty Supply to wrap the hair BEFORE I put the bands on. And last but not least I do the topknot DAILY!!! Yes I know, DAILY??? But it helps keep the mats from forming in the topknot and tangles!!!! So there is a solution!!!
