Has anyone tried the Orijen pet food?
I got some info on it and went to three stores that sell it. Talked to the people there and they all stated they liked it very much.
It is grain free, fresh meats, high protein and low-carbohydrates.
I will also try the canned to give it some added flavor.
They have won the Glycemic Pet Food of the Year 2009-2010 Award

Let me know what you think.

Jack loves the Wellness and will probably go back to it at a later time. I like to change up his diet every 3-4 months so he gets a good balance of change and not get bored with the same food over and over. After years of being on the same food, dogs can get allergies.

I've heard of the product but don't know a thing about it. I am sure Maggie will give you some input on this product.......one thing she does know is good products for fluffs.

I am switching out all mine from the Wellness Weight Management and Natural Balance Venision for the Evo products Red meat and chicken and also going to try the Taste of the Wild. I added a few kibbles of the Evo Red Meat this morning and all of them but Kallie ate it up instantly. I had to prime her a bit but then she did her regular chow down! :D :D

Mine were all on Orijen for quite a long time but it is not available around here anymore. They all liked it and did really well.
We then switched them to Wellness and half of them did not like it. I had to bribe them by adding some homemade broth to their bowl. As well, 2 of them got really soft poops. At the end I was giving them pumpkin puree with their food! So yesterday, we switched them to NB which they love!
I put half and half Wellness/NB and they love it!
D'Sugar, my finicky baby, ate all of the NB and left the Wellness in his bowl!!!

Mitzy used to be on Orijen when we did allergy trials. She loved it and so did I, I just hated driving 2 hours to get it :tounge: Honestly it is probably the best smelling of the "fish" foods we've tried (we did the 6 fish). I think its an awesome brand of food, very pure ingredients wise

Orijen is a great food. High in protein though if that is a concern. I usually leave out to free feed either Acana, Orijen, Nature's Variety or TOW. Everything else my fluffs won't touch.

They like their home cooking the best most of the time.:o

Gracie eats the Orijen fish and is doing very well on it. Our local pet boutique type store carries it and the owner recommended it to me as her top choice of all the foods in her store. I like the fact that it is not chicken based, personally.
