Keysha's hair I so want to grow it out to see how she would look with it long, but I am thinking I should have her cut first then start to grow it. She is 4 months now and she has not had a cut yet, her hair is starting to get some mats in it and she gets brushed once if not twice a day everyday. So just wondering if her hair would come in differently after a first cut. I tried to put some clips that I had for my hair, I her top and snaped this pic, it lasted a whole 3 seconds then she took her paws and pulled them out. :(:(:( Just looked at this pic it is not a good pic of her.

Sounds like she is at the "difficult" stage of going from puppy hair to adult hair especially with all the brushing and she is still getting matts. If I brush mine daily, I have one or two matts from the playing with each other at day's end. So maybe give it some time to grow longer or gie her a puppy cut and give the adult hair a chance to grow in. I know when my maltese are long, their hair is nice and straight bu when I cut it short, it tends to get a bit wavey. But either way, they are my beauties and have my heart.:hearter:

Thanks for sharing and I am sure whatever you decide, she will be beautiful!!!

In the last 14 months I got 4 Maltese puppies (yea I Know, I am crazy:D)

I would definitely wait a bit before cutting the hair. If you can find a good detangler that you can spray on while brushing it will make all the difference in the world!

I learned the hard way as D'Jollee's hair would tangle very easily!!

I think you could probably wait a bit longer and if you decide that her puppy hair needs to be cut you could trim it shorter and start over. BUT ;) if you do decide to cut her now don't cut the topknot or the hair by her eyes.. trust me it takes FOREVER :D to grow back out and is worth brushing everyday just that little bit of hair ;)

She will get used to the clips, just when she messes with them tell her no, and put the clip back in. Mine doesn't even notice hers anymore and leaves them in all day.. took awhile but the consistency and patience is worth it in the long run!!

Good luck let us know what you decide!!

Thanks for the replies, I did get her cut, and I forgot to tell hubby to tell the groomer not to cut the top, its cut. I will have to wait for it to grow longer now.
