Hi Everyone,

Ok, this might put me to shame, but my Morkie Mylo still pees/poops on his training pads at home. The reason being is that it's been cold/rainy lately and I guess i didnt wanna make him go outside, plus he's feisty, i cant trust him to go outside and NOT TRY TO ESCAPE through a hole in the bushes. LOL. oh and everyone in my household is at work or goes to school, so it's been hard to keep an eye on him. Anyone got any pointers on how i can make him go pee outside? i guess i should remove the pads and put it outside for starters? how long did it take all of you to completely house train your maltese?

Is he home by himself all day while everyone is at work, including you? If he is doing his business on the pee pads..........be thankful!!! It's really hard to retrain them for outside if they are use to the pee pads. And obviously they can only go outside if there is someone to let them out. So I'm not sure exactly what you mean. My maltese used the pee pads when we were gone (but I am a fulltime housewife so here most of the time) and of course goes outside when I am here. The yorkie was "suppose" to be pee pad trained but first time we left him alone, he shredded the pads. So I made the big step to have them both completely outside potty trained. I had the circumstances that it takes to do it. Took me about two weeks being with them 24/7 to outside train them with only one or two accidents during that time. But I did have the maltese pretty much trained before Toby came along so she was a big help. LOL

thanks for the pointers...haha..yeah i wanna make him go outside to pee because I cant keep forking out $20 for a pack of pee pads all the time! One pack contains 50 pads, but of course, i go through them quite fast. when i take him out for a walk, he'll pee/poop, which is good i suppose. i just gotta teach him to ask to be let out when he needs to pee/poo!
