I was "given" a birthday gift today, a trip "home" to spend my birthday with my Mom. This is a priceless gift to me. Since my Dad passed away in May, time with my Mom is even more important to me, I feel.
Ok so any peeps that live up in the DC area, I will be in Alexandria, VA from Oct. 15 to Nov. 10. If you wish to meet, please email me at missmelanie_02@yahoo.com.
I am flying up but should have a car while up there.
Ohh I am so excited! In being able to go up when I can, now I will be able to go to the Tree dedication at the National Science Foundation for my Dad. I really had wanted to see this, since I think this is so very kind of them to do in his memory.
What a trip this seems it will be. I really am just so thankful to be able to go.

I have been to and through Richmond more times then I could count. I grew up mostly in Alexandria and have been all over the State. Not sure I will be going south much on this trip though, but can let you know.
Wookie is going with me, and Glory will be staying home. She is not a "traveler" at all. She gets sick in the car going to the groomers and vets office. :(
You can bet I am taking my camera and TWO memory cards. :wink5: I am planning on plenty of "sight seeing" and visiting "old haunts" from my youth.
Leesburg, might be on my way somewhere. I have to get out to Front Royal, Cedarville, and other places, so yes, Ashley, bet we could meet up.

Mel that sounds like a lovely gift, and the weather should be wonderful. A nice break from the FL heat. Have a fun, safe trip.
