Hi Halo is now 11 months old and very willing and able to mate. If anyone has a small female dog that wants to breed Halo would be perfect. He is full grown at 5lbs AKC reg with all his papers, all his shots and vet check and very healthy. No stud fee, just pup from litter. He is very friendly loves dogs and people. Westchester County New York ....
It doesnt have to be a Maltese, Halo can stud out to a poodle and make a Maltipoo, or a yorkie etc....

I can send up to date pictures if interested.
thanks

Please don't breed your baby. There are SO many reasons not to.http://www.foxstonemaltese.com/reputable_Maltese_breeders.htm

Welcome to Maltese Talk!!

May I ask why you are wanting to breed Halo?? You are asking no stud fee and only want a puppy?? There are SO many puppies out there that need homes from irresponsible breeding, breeding that has no testing and no cause to improve a breed.

Please read up on breeding and the testing necessary. Its alot of work and not something to take lightly or do for fun.

Also you may consider having Halo neutered for his health..

Halo is a male and was wondering if there was a female that needed him.
As i said i wasnt charging just a stud fee of pup from litter. Some people want to breed their dogs and have puppies for relatives etc instead of spending alot of money on malteses.

Just saying Halo is available for stud

I think we understand a bit of what your saying. I can tell you before I got educated on all this stuff, I was pretty oblivious to breeding . I think you need to do a lot of reading and research and try to understand all sides of it.
It's SO much more than breeding your little one in the hopes of a cute puppy or two. Just do some research and while your at it, neutering would also be something to think about.

Andrea's right. Its alot of stress AND money. Breeding is not without money. If you just want puppies to hand out to neighbors and family for free why not check your shelters?? Have you any idea how many good intentioned breedings go wrong or puppies end up in shelters because of people "wanting" to breed for fun?? Its alot of work. Breeding is not meant to give "free" puppies. Its meant to improve on a breed.

Please do read the links we gave you and research breeding more thouroughly. Its more than throwing a male and a female in heat together and hoping for healthy puppies.

I agree, don't breed your pet. Leave the breeding to the experts. There are plenty of available pet puppies & adult dogs in rescues & shelters that need a good loving home.

Many years ago before I was aware of any if this I made that mistake with dire consequences, the puppies (poodle) died and it was a frightening and devastating experience. This is going back 30 years. Nothing has changed since then, the risks are still the same. Do your puppy a favor and please neuter him. It will prevent problems for him later. Suppose you mated him with another Maltese are you or the other person prepared to spend thousands of dollars in vet bills to ensure a risky pregnancy? These tiny babies require round the clock care and I mean round the clock, as they are so much smaller than other breeds. I hope you will take this to heart and do the right thing.

YOu do not have to spend $3000 to get a Maltese . There are some good breeders out there that don't charge that much . Dogs are expensive and before anyone gets one . a call to the vet is a good idea. Thats what I did. How much will I expect to pay for good vet care, shots, worming, teeth heartworm and flea meds. These are questions for your friends and relatives to ask. I am not wealthy butI want to give my dog the very best care he deserves. Please give this all some more thought.

Plese read and really think about it.
Breeding and risking your baby's life is not a good enough reason, at least not to me.:(

Asking for a puppy back rather than stud fee with maltese can be costly, especially since the 'average' litter is 1-3 pups. Personally, i would recommend not breeding your pet. But if you are bound and determine to do so, please make sure you've had at least a cbc and chem panel on your boy, and ideally bile acid testing.

If you're working with unhealthy breeding stock, your friends and family sure won't be thanking you if they wind up with huge vet bills because there is a genetic time bomb somewhere in the your dog's line. I'm sure you wont' have any trouble finding a like minded bitch owner to take you up on your offer - just please do not add to the over population by creating 'designer' breeds.
