My Kojak died last year. He was the love of our life. I now have a yorkie but nothing will ever replace Kojak. Kojak was never, ever a problem about anything. He never chewed shoes, etc. He would stare at me and I knew he wanted to go out to potty, NOT THIS YORKIE! But I love her.
Kojak is burried in our back yard with a Big White Cross and everytime I go out and see it, I CRY.

Kojak was 15 years old and started acting very strange, confused, mean, took him to the vet and had all tests done and they could not find anything wrong with him. They told me that it was just a matter of time and one morning he went to eat his breakfast and starting peeing and just layed down, as if, "I give up". Had a friend come get him and take him to the Vet. He was asleep when she picked him up and never woke up and the vet gave him the shot. The worst day of our life. He is buried in the back yard with a big white cross and always flowers on his grave. That happened in Oct. of 2006 and every time I walk out there and see the cross, I JUST CRY.

Thank God that he gave us 15 years of precious memories.

Thanks for sharing your story.........I know after 15 years, it is so hard to wake up and he not be there! Thank goodness we have memories and I still cry over my little mixed breed, Kelsey (rip 04-30-04) that owned us for 12 1/2 years. But we bring new joys into our lives, not replacements. I now have a maltese and a yorkie.

Very sweet and cuddly looking Kojak in your avatar! What is the name of your Yorkie girl? You can post pics of her too. I am sure you have many more stories you can share with us about your Kojak and your yorkie girl! And please, do post some pics of her! I'd love to see her!:)

Yes, that is Kojak, I hope. Posted a pic of him and tried to add my yorkie, don't know if I did it correctly but you can tell the difference.
My Kojak was the best thing. He was so smart, did not need much training. He would stare at me and I knew that he wanted to go out to potty, NOT THE YORKIE!! He was never a problem, except that he loved my husband more than me and I got quite a few bites. We had a parrot, blue and gold macaw, and they were best friends. I will try to post photos of them.

My yorkie is Miss Tricksie and she is so different from Kojak, always in trouble and hidding from me. My husband opened an auction barn and he left every Sat.morning about 7A.M. I worked in the office and did not leave until 10-AM. I would tell Kojak, "we are going to see Papa" and he would jump in my arms. BUT, one morning, he had the poops and I had to clean his butt, "HE HATED THAT", so when it got time to go to the auction, he would not let me pick him up, really vicious. Had to call my husband on the phone and told him to talk to Kojak, and put the phone to Kojak's ear and Papa said, " Go with mama". He jumped in my arms and off we went.

Awwww, thanks for sharing that with us. I tried to imagine being there as you shared the story! He knew his papa's voice! I can just see his head turning as he heard his papa's voice on the phone. It is funny how they get so attached to each of us in their own way. Kallie has a thing with my hubby; she begs for him to hold her (literally) and so he picks her up and she lays her head on his shoulder...... and stays there until he is ready to put her down. She will not do that with me. I pick her up the same way, hold her the same way and in about two seconds, she wants down again! They just have their ways with each of us! Do you have any other pictures of Kojak???? I'd love to see more pics of him as well as your Yorkie girl, Miss Tricksie.

You may have to resize you pics to attach them in your posts. I use this site to resize my pictures: www.resize2mail.com

I just read this post of your Kojak story.:(
I am so sorry, 15 years has alot of memories.
I understand crying everytime you see the cross in your backyard.
My Star was like Kojak that she never complained and always pottied in the right place from the 1st (too early) time I got her.
My vet was right, another dog will not have the same personality and will be different. It was good he told me..like preparing me to let go.
I have Star's ashes by my bed in a box and give it a pat but cry a tear too.
I was not fortunate to have her very long.
Be content your Kojak had a wonderful life to share with 2 of you, and that you were with him. I m sure this is hard on your hub too.
I think he passed the best way any dog can, with you and naturally it seems.
I am sorry,,,Lisa
p.s. your pic of him is sweet. :o
p.s.s. I lost my collie of 12 yrs, 10 yrs ago and still find it hard to talk about her.
