Hi!
Recently I saw this dog food pet brand called Priority Total Pet Care, I decided to try the Country Stew Cuts in Gravy flavor, because my Ginger apparently likes dog food that SMELLS like human food. But I'm not so sure if this brand is healthy for her to eat? To be honest I have no clue what "Crude" means, I'm guessing it means fake nutrients or something? I put her on Natural Balance the Venison w/ sweet potatoes & the Chicken w/ sweet potatoes but she doesn't seem to eat AS much compared to when we feed her Pedigree Country Stew & this new brand. She gets all excited whenever I feed her human smelling food haha!

I would PREFER to put her on naturally made dog food without preservatives, etc. but I have no idea which natural dog foods are chunky & smell like human food, especially the country stew flavor. Any suggestions?

Thanks! :)

I've never heard of the first food you've mentioned but Pedigree isn't the best food

Check out this site, its grades the dog foods Dog Food Analysis (http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com/)

Some good foods are: Natural Balance, Acana, Orijen, Taste of the Wild, Wellness, California Naturals, Solid Gold, Blue, Artemis...

If she wants people food have you thought about home cooking for her?? A few members here home cook and I'm sure would be willing to give you some recipes. You do have to supplement though when home cooking. Or maybe you could add some green beans, chicken, pumpkin or some carrots to her Natual Balance to entice her to eat it!! ;) You gotta be tricky sometimes when getting them to eat all their food :tounge:

I would definitely suggest trying one of the premium dog foods that Jess listed and maybe add a little canned dog foor (premium) to encourage her to eat.

I now home cook for all four of mine......it is a little extra work but they sooooooooooo enjoy it and I enjoy the challenge of coming up with different combinations for them. Of course with the home cooking you will have to add several supplements.

Bing, bing, BING, I might be able to help here, finally. :wink5:

When Mr Wookie went on his "hmm I might eat today" fling, I found that doing this worked wonders.

I would cut into bite size pieces beef or cafe liver (BLECK) and pour some chicken broth on it and microwave it for about 25 to 30 seconds. I would pour it over the dry food and let it set for a few minutes to let the kibble soften some and for it to cool off.

All the doggies, would sit in the kitchen, just about drooling, awaiting their food. :) Over time I did stop adding the liver, and instead add carrots once a day, but I still use the chicken broth to soften the kibble. Gives it that "HUMAN" food smell.

Also, you should check out Carol's video's of her dogs getting fed. Now that is how any dog would LOVE to eat!
