hello,ive been checking out this site for the past week and decided its time
i should introduce my self,I just got my first maltese 2 wks ago,his name is harly and he is 10 wks old,i dont no how to post pics so waiting on daughter to come show me,he is just a sweatheart loves to play and kiss and so friendly,my question is how do i keep his eyes from becomming red color
staining? is there a product you all use and where do i get it? thank you all

you reallly need to wait till he stops teething to deal with the staining but in the mean time try & feed him a good food without added colouring & wash his face every day! Others here will be able to help you out more with brands & such.

Well, he is too young to start on any antibiotics. The stains are most likely from the teething he is and will go through with puppy teeth!! Also only give him distilled water to keep the staining down. And the food, look for red colored foods or colorings that are added. EVERY puppy has some staining, it is just normal for him to have some.

While he is teething, wash his eyes daily to keep bacteria from building up and making it worse and you can use a little carnstarch to help keep them dry during the day too.:maltese5:

thanks for the warm welcome and all the great advice,i think im going to like here:) i did bath him last night finally,and he looks so fluffy and smells great,didnt mind the bath to much but hates when i mess with his eyes,thanks again all ,not to good with the puter thing im still learning as i go
