So, when you take your dogs in the car with you. How do they travel? Free roaming in the back seat, front seat or do you have a car seat that you put them in? I am looking into something a little more secure for travel. Any suggestions? I need something that they will be able to see out the window. They are not complaining abou their present arrangements for going in the car, but I know it is not safe for them! They are in the backseat! Also I have side airbags in the back and wonder if anybody knows how that will affect a carseat that might be attached to the headrest? Just give some ideas.........I don't want to put the crate in and out of the car! HELP!

Well I usually put him in the carrier when traveling. But I am really thinking about buying a car seat. I think Cosmo will not feel so confine when I drive to visit my mom. Any suggestions on a good car seat?

This is the carseat (http://www.petedge.com/shopping/product/detailmain.jsp?itemID=4002&itemType=PRODUCT&iMainCat=0&iSubCat=0&iSubSubCat=0&iProductID=4002&AS=1) I use

Scrappy loves it. It also doubles as a bed in fact that was how I got him used to it. I had it inside for a few days and let him nap in it so when he went in it for the first time in the car he was already familiar with it.:maltese7:

I have a car seat and we use it a lot. I think it's called outward hound?? It's a cheap one compared to a lot of the ones I've seen but it does the job!

Hello! Kira doesn't travel very much in the car because she gets anxious, but when I do have her in the car she has a seat belt harness. LB has the one pictured below. She doesn't like it too much, she would rather sit on my lap:D.

Kallie is content in the backseat sleeping but Toby want to be up where he can see everything unless it is on the Highway and then he is okay to sleep. But if not, he is constantly trying to get in the front seat to be with us! So I really want something that they will enjoy being in. I'm going to look some more around and maybe ebay. Thanks for all suggestions!

We use a seatbelt 'harness' that lets the strap go through it and snaps into the car buckle. Jack can still get up and move around but it keeps him comfined to the seat and not roam around. He usually goes to sleep when we're in the car.
