I had to put Ginger ( My 13 yr old Aussie) to sleep last week.

Last night we went out to dinner with some friends. It was the first time Lilli was left alone since Gingi passed. When we got home, she was so excited and had been in such anxiety she got sick and threw up repeatedly. She almost had what I would call a canine anxiety attack. Then she would not leave either my husband or my side. Last night she almost slept under me she was trying to stay so close. This morning, she would not even go outside unless I was right beside her, she finally peed and pooped, but with her eyes on me the whole time. I take her with me most places, but there are some places she just can't go. I have an X pen and open crate I will leave her in in future (last night she was loose in the house), but I think what she needs most is a buddy. I don't think I want to go through the whole puppy stuff, especially in winter in Ohio, but if anyone out there knows of an older (as 1 to 3) yr old that needs a good loving forever home, please let me know. I would prefer already neutered or spayed or will have done by my vet. Healty is most important. I will drive or fly if necessary to pick up. Smaller is better for me as we do take our dogs with us as much as possible. Lilli is exactly 6 Lbs and prefer to find someone her size or smaller. I can supply references.

I am so sorry about the passing of your beloved Ginger. A lot of us have been in that situation and my heart breaks for you. You did the best for your family member and now the healing begins.
Poor little Lilli, she must have thought you were not coming back!!
Have you thought of looking on Petfinder? That's where I found our Jack.
Good luck with finding a pup who needs a new home.

I am so sorry for your loss, how hard that must be on both you and Lilli..

My only words of advice are to check Petfinder, or look into a maltese rescue in your area

I am so sorry for your loss..........it is so hard when you lose a fluff that has brought you nothing but joy and pleasure. I think most of us if not all of us have experienced what you are dealing with emotionally.

My only suggestion would be what Jess suggested. I got Kallie, Brandy and Toby off of Petfinder; two in the classified section and the other listed by a rescue.
