We have a local yard sale web site that people post things for sale and I found this ad in the pets section:

Maltese female with issues....

i bought a maltese female who was already full grown when we bought her....she was raised in a kennel for 9 months of her life and she wants to be a good dog but lacks the social skills to do so with humans. she's fine with other little dogs...just timid around people. I thought i could help her but with two little kids i haven't found the time to help like i had hoped. This dog needs special one on one training so if you are only looking for a housepet then please do not respond. i need to find her a permanent home with someone with training experience who can help her with the psycological problems that she has. do not waste my time if you are wanting to breed her or if you think that by giving her love you can help her. That's what i tried and she's gotten better but needs someone with the know-how to really help her. i will make sure i do the right thing and find her a great home...please tell me all about yourself when you email me or i will not respond.
She is 1.5 years old...purebred maltese. Let me know if you can help give her a home she deserves and needs.
Price: $100

I want to help this poor girl but I don't know if a home with 4 children is ideal. She would probably do best in a home with just a Mom and Dad to care for her... idk

I am going to email her about the southern comfort maltese rescue, is there anything else you can think of?

Thanks!!

That's a good idea to tell her about Southern Comfort Rescue. That would be the best option in my opinion. Poor little one,I hope she gets a good home with someone qualified to help her be what she can be with the right training. If she's not yet spayed, she should get that done before she sends her to a new home.

Contacting a rescue is a GREAT idea!! :)

I agree with Sue, it sounds like the dog isn't spayed. When you email her tell her there are plenty of ways to get her spayed without having to fork out a fortune before finding her a home. This little dog already grew up in a mill we don't want her returning :(

So sad this kind of thing happens all the time..

She was raised in a kennel for her first nine months, she is now 1 1/2 years?

I think she just needs more time and loving. The rescue would be a ideal situation for her! They would access her needs and find her a caring home where the prospective new owner would understand her needs and give her the time and understanding she needs to become secure.
She sounds like a scared little girl unsure of her surroundings. Who can blame her, knowing her beginning?

Poor sweet soul.
I sincerely hope and pray her life will improve, and she will find the forever home she so needs to thrive.

Thank you for bringing us her story, I pray her story will end with a happy ending. I wish I were closer...
