All Stages Dog Food

Hi everyone,

I hope I am starting this thread in the right place since I would like some advice about all stages dog food for puppies and couldn't find a thread for it here.
I have been giving my 7.5 month old puppy the Evo all stages dog food since we adopted her about 3 months ago. I recently went to purchase more at my local natural pet food store and the woman that helped me had concerns that the high protein content is NOT good for puppies and is hard on their kidneys. I chose this food since it was grain free and was one of the top choices by reviewers. I was hoping to get some feedback on this from all of you very knowledgable maltese owners out there :) I was thinking of changing over to Orijen Puppy formula, but this is also a very high protein content food. So now I am at a loss for what to do and I only want the best for my baby Bella. She seems to be doing very well, very happy and in great health so far.

Both Evo and Orijen are excellent foods. Protein is an issue with non-active dogs. Puppies are extremely active and work off the protein.

I agree with Maggie.........a puppy will use up the protein just being a puppy. I am sure either product will work fine with your fluff!

I fed Orijen when Mitzy was a puppy, I also used Natural Balance which is also an all stages food!! ;)

Thanks so much everyone. I thought I was providing her the best of the best and now I feel much better about giving her the all stages food :)
