Is it possible to over feed a furbaby? I cooked for Mia today. (very healthy...veggies and all) She was under the weather yesterday and was on pedilyte all day. I served her half a bowl of the home made food and she scarffed it down in less than 5 min. She looks like a rolly polly!:p Is it possible to over feed? My hubby and son are calling her fat girl now! Before she ate she weighed 2 lbs now she looks like 4lbs.:o

If Mia was not feeling well and didn't have anything to eat yesterday I think it's okay if she compensates by eating a little more today. Don't worry. You cooked her a healthy meal and I'm sure she'll have her BM and be back to herself in no time!

Most dogs can and will over eat, but I have noticed that Maltese aren't like that, they tend to eat what they need, so Mia must have needed it. I wouldn't worry.
awww i love good eatters :D
but my kids arent very good eatters or scraffing down food they take their time and i think its because i just lay their food down the whole day (yes its a bad habit)
but i just wanted to say, your baby is so cute!

I think they will over eat especially when it comes to good home-style cooked food. My kids will chow down on their kibbles immediately if I add a little people food. But they are older and so I only feed them twice a day. I am sure she will be fine. If she ate too much and the tummy didn't like it, you would see her throw up but she will be fine, as someone else said once she has a BM. LOL

That's why I got worried she isn't a good eater...:o I also put the food down all day. But she didn't even leave a grain of rice in less than 5 minutes! :p
Thanks IM your baby is super cute too!

My furbabies aren't good eatters as well. They pick throughout the day. I put a cup of food out at 5:30 am and its barely gone by bedtime....12 am. I've been thinking about adding veggies to thier diet as a treat. Good to know that other pups enjoy it.

Small amounts of veggies/fruits are fine (somewhere on the site is a list of food for people that are not safe for dogs) but for them to eat the kibble, I have found that you have to really mix them together really good so they don't pick out the people food and leave the kibbles. I put out food this morning around 7:30AM and just added some broccoli to the kibble (4:00PM) and they ate every bit of it.........licked the bowl clean!!! lol
