I've been buying the Evanger's canned food for Jack and he just loved it. But after that company's founders were arrested on trying to defraud the utility companies out of thousands of dollars, I decided I couldn't trust them any more.

Last Saturday I went to the Wet Nose Boutique by me and started looking for new canned food. The young lady who works there remembered Jack and we started talking about canned food. I told her I decided to stop with the other company and she said their their store stopped selling it right after what happened. She recommended the Merrick and I bought a can of each kind...French Country Cafe...Mediterranean Banquet....Cowboy Cookout...Grammy's Pot Pie...Turducken...Smothered Comfort...and Thanksgiving Day Dinner. I also got a can of the organic 100% Pure Pumpkin for dogs to keep on hand.

Well, Jack went crazy for the first can....French Country Cafe!!! I can't wait to see him go goofy for the others too.

I had the kids on Merrick canned for a short while but now have switched them over to the Blue Buffalo and they love it. I mainly use the can to have their home cooked food stick together and also for making treats........they love it. Glad that Jack loves the canned.........do you still have him on a kibble as well????

My kids looooooove Merrick, and I have two really picky eaters. I also like the fact they come in smaller can since I do feed them dry too. Now that I think about it, they eat raw, wet and dry food.
But I highly recommend Merrick :movington:

I don't typically feed Emma canned food (the smell of it just gags me...yuck!) but I picked up a can of Grammy's Pot Pie and a can of Thanksgiving Dinner while I was at the store today buying another bag of her Innova kibble. We'll see what she thinks of it...

How long does canned food stay good in the fridge once it has been opened? I know I've seen a discussion on it at some point but I can't remember what was said!

Don't leave the canned food in the can, put it in a container and refrigerate. It can usually last 3-4 days. Buy the smaller cans if you can and you won't have to worry.
The Merrick actually smells pretty darn good, Jack was jumping really high when I opened the Cowboy Cookout today.

Now that I have three dogs the can last throughout the day. I bought a lid for the can and put it in the refrigerator. If I know they won't be having that for dinner I place the food in glass container. I forgot which one of the ladies recommended that.
And Merricks wet food doesn't smell bad at all. I know Emma will love you more and give you extra licks for it.

Do you feed dry kibble too? How much of this stuff should I give her if she's also eating kibble?

I mix like two tablespoon of wet food with there kibbles, especialy if you don't want to get her use to eating only wet food. With one of them I made sure she ate half her dry kibbles first and then the other half will be mix with wet food. I didn't want them to let go of dry kibbles. I don't think Emma will have a problem since she's so good in eating her dry food.
I don't know how much she eats but I have others that love each others left overs.

OK, so I opened the can of Grammy's Pot Pie yesterday. Em went WILD. Loves the stuff. It's a little runnier/messier than I expected but she loves it. I just gave her about three spoonfuls to see how it went. I think the girl is hooked now.

I knew she would, it even smells great. Welcome to the Merrick addict club Emma!!
