They are as different as night and day. Kojak NEVER got in trouble, my worst experience with him was when we lived in FL in the winter and MN in the summer, as we traveled home to MN and stopped for his potty break he had to walk a mile to get in the mood to poop and it was either, rain, snow, sleet or ice and I was freezing./
This yorkie, Tricksie, has to have my undivided attention 24/7. I love her so much but what a handful she is. When I am on the computer she will crawl under furniture and start eating the wood, rip up the carpet, crawl under the computer to attack something, jump on me with a toy in her mouth. She is quick!!! She can disappear in a second and I start yelling her name, can't find her but when I clap my hands, SHE APPEARS. What an experience.
EVERYONE SHOULD HAVE A YORKIE ONCE IN THEIR LIFE!!!

ROFL..............Donna, I have both right NOW!!! And, yes there is a huge difference in the two breeds! Toby the yorkie is so much more needy than the maltese! And he does the same thing, brings a toy and lets me know he wants to play. Much more rough at playing too!!! We are working on that! Did you say quick?? Oh yes, much quicker!! But he learns tricks quicker than Kallie (hubby will kill me if he reads this) and is easier to groom! Toby has a real sweet side to him and I wouldn't trade him for the world (maybe for another maltese, rofl)! Kallie the maltese has a much sweeter demeanor, calmer, content with just being near you and great in the back seat of the car sleeping until we get where we are going; Toby is like a caged lion up and down off the seats, side to side!!!
So with all that said, I will always have a maltese in my life!!! Kallie according to my husband, is the "PERFECT" dog. Of course he does not do the grooming, hahaha. Toby may be my first and last yorkie!!! And don't you gals all go get into a huff about that! They are a handful and I am getting older, not younger!!! ROFL I DEARLY LOVE BOTH MY FURBUTTS WITH ALL MY HEART!!

Forgot to mention the grooming with Kojak, he hated it and I had a groomer come to my home every 6 weeks for 14 years, one day she put him in the van to groom him and within 5 min. she thru him in the door and said, "I am done". He was so mean and I have scares all over me where he has bit me but never his Papa, because Papa never took him to the Vet, nor the groomer.
Listen to this, Kojak started bleeding from his penis, took him to the Vet, they could not find the problem, took him to the University of MN and they could not find the problem. About a year later, Papa was diagonised with prostrate cancer. Another Vet found that he was chewing the end of his penis off. When Papa was cured, Kojak quit chewing his penis.

Which is the oldest? Doesn't Toby drive Kallie crazy? My friend has a schnauzer, and she got a yorkie, had to get rid of it because he would attack Tasha and trying to defend herself, she could hurt the yorkie.
I do like so many things about Tricksie, she lets me do anything to her, not Kojak, he didn't want me to touch him, it had to be his idea.
I am a little to old this little girl, hope I can keep up with her.

Toby is 17 months old and Kallie is 4 1/2 yrs. old and they get along great mainly because Kallie has a very sweet disposition and because I make sure they know I am the Packleader and do not allow any dominating behavior to exist between them. Toby is 6 lbs. and Kallie 10.5 pounds so she is the bigger of the two! I can do anything to either one of them with regard to grooming, training, etc. They are both gems to be owned by! Toby has settled in very nicely with "my" pack!! lol Toby is not friendly with any other dogs and will attack if I didn't restrain him or correct him but he is not that way towards "his" lovely sister, Kallie. But they do have totally different personalities!

You must watch the Dog Whisper! I tried all of his techniques with Kojak but nothing worked.

I have a yorkie and maltese too :) They are both sooo sweet and love to give kisses! Emma and Miko chase each other around the house, play hide and seek, and take naps together during the day. At night, they both sleep on the pillows above our heads :) I can't say that one is better behaved than the other though. They're both such good furbabies!! The only difference is that he loves attention from EVERYONE. And she's a bit more shy with strangers :) But at home, they both demand their attention...If Miko wants to communicate with us, he'll make these talking noises (at least I think he's trying to talk :) ). And Emma will jump up and give us tons of kisses. They are both kissy babies. LOL
