Maltese Breeders in Ireland?

Hi all

I've been reading the articles and tips about breeders and I'm just going round in circles - The IKC, Pedigreedogs, etc. I'm looking for Maltese breeders in Ireland but no luck can anyone help?

Thanks if you can, its just ridiculous that information which should be easy to find isn't!

I feel for you! Unfortunately, I don't know any breeders in Ireland but in the US, reputable breeders are sometimes listed with the AKC - does the IKC list any? What about dog shows in Ireland, could you perhaps search for maltese in shows there and maybe contact them to see if they have puppies or know a good breeder who does?

Hi JanG!

I tried searching the IKC many times, I have tried searching everywhere else as well. Luckily though I came across (I think on the IKC) a list of contacts of Dog Society's etc so I took down their details. I also found a group on good old Facebook and one of the girls there put my onto a breeder about 2 hours away from me (next county) She said she got her dog from her and a few other members of the group also got their dogs from her as well.

I also tried looking for am Irish Maltese Forum but there arent any! :L Ireland doesn't appear to really have anything so the 4.5 million of us are really missing out :L

The hard bit is now over as I now have a breeder contact details, I just have to continue getting more information now Thanks for trying!

Well, at least you have all your ducks in a row and have some good leads. It's just waiting for the right time now? Waiting sucks!

Believe me I know!!!! our home is a bit on the small side considering the things I will need to get and the fact that she wont be allowed upstairs so she will only have access to 3 rooms plus the garden. .... It will be at least 2 years before I can get a fluff I have to be moved out before I can get a pet and that cant happen any time soon. ... Really all I can do is just research and maybe buy a few things every now and then and store them away. That way I will have everything when I get the puppy

Sounds like a plan! Maybe by the time you are ready, you will have enough information on possible breeders with puppies for adoption to get your very own Maltese.

Well so far I only have the one breeder but because a few people are happy with their pups from her she seems to be the ideal one. We don't have many breeders in Ireland though but I do have dog society contacts that I can call when I need too I actually found a pdf called Maltese Secrets I think I found it on here and Im reading that now as well talk about information overload!
