Saw Marley & Me Today

My daughter in law and I did a girl day and had a full massage (she had never had one and is now addicted), haircuts and then went to see Marley & Me WOW what a tearjerker and funny everyone in the theater was dabbing tears away. I had read the book so I knew what to expect but cried anyway.

I want to go and see that movie soooooooooooo bad. Don't mind a good tear jerker once in a while. The massage sounds pretty good too!! Never had one but maybe I should try it...........but then I might get addicted and I already have too many addictions! Thanks for the review!!! Did they stick pretty close to the book???

They did stay pretty close to the book but just couldn't get all the book in the movie. I was glad I had read the book first so I knew what was missing in the movie.

I have also wanted to see that movie so bad but I really would like to read the book first! For those of you who have seen it, do you recommend reading the book first or does it matter?

I read the book a couple years ago and so when I saw the movie I knew so much more about it than they could put in the movie so I was glad I had read it first but not sure it matters b/c after you see the movie you will want to read the book

Okay, I'm really picky about my books like most people are about their movies. I don't like to know what happened, so personally I wish I would have rather read the book first. I'm probably going to buy the book Wednesday if Border's has a sale going on so I can finally read it.

I think I'm going to go to Barnes & Noble at lunch and pick up the book... lol... I know I'm not going to be happy if I watch the movie first. Thanks everyone!

I saw it today, too. It was very good.

Who was it that said they wanted to run out to the store afterwards and buy something for their dog? LOL. That's what I wanted to do too but the pet stores around here were closed.

Lots of mention here of buying a book...just in case you didn't know about this site...check out www.half.com for great prices on used books.

We lost our Abby in August (Golden Retriever) so it is waaaaay too soon to see a sad doggy movie. I would be escorted out for my SOBBING....

Trust me, it's too soon ANYTIME you watch it. The whole time watching it, I was thinking about my baby Shar pei that we lost 11 years ago... and my kitty we lost in April last year... and my Golden we lost in September last year... and dreading the thought of losing my beloved yorkie babies one day.

The thing about it though is, while the ending was sad, they kind of made it more of a memorial for Marley. They made it more of a reminder to cherish your pets and love them while you have them and it makes you appreciate them just a little bit more than you already do. I love the ending monologue. It's great.

I feel your pain lol I cried during the happy parts of the movie!

My mom one time was driving down the road and was driving behind a bus full of little kids and started crying because she was thinking "all that precious little cargo".
