Cookie sheets?

I have a question. Hubby says we need to put aluminum foil on all cookie sheets to keep them clean. I say no - so what if they are discolored from cooking on them. They are for cooking, not for display. I'd rather have some discoloration than cook on aluminum foil. What do you all think?

It doesn't matter to me what the cookie sheet looks like........but with that said, I use silicone sheets on mine and that keeps the cookie sheet clean.

My cookie sheets look terrible because I was always told that when they got dark, they cooked better. Now they make dark ones. However, I try not to use aluminum cookware as there's some who think it might contribute to some illnesses. So, I would never line with foil. If I do use them, I'm like Carol and use the silicon mats on them but wonder exactly how safe those mats are too. They sure do work well though!

As you said they are for cooking not for display. I use the non stick ones and when they start sticking (lol, was typing stinking) I buy new ones. Maybe you could use parchment paper to line them.

I sometimes use parchment paper on mine, depending on what I'm baking, but I don't cook with/on aluminum.

We have the new pots, pans and sheet pans that are advertised on tv and we love them! Before we used parchment paper.
