Patience please

Hang in their my friends. I haven't been on as much lately. These weeks leading up to retirement are doozies. Others have made comments that I should just let things go cause what can they do - fire me?! But that is just not me. I'm going to leave on a high note and not leave anything undone. The catch is some of the work from now till Dec 21 could be finished in Jan after break if I was still working in Jan but I won't be there and that's not right as someone else wouldn't know the child and have all the info I have. So for 11 more days I will be busting tail to not leave anything undone. I may be retiring but I still love my teammates since they are like me and are incredible professionals and I won't leave them in a mess and cleaning up my work. Counting down. 11 more days and then all the time I want to have fun (including posting here). Keep me in your thoughts and pull for me the next 1 11 days.

Retirement is not bad. It's now 8 years that we have retired. On the beginning it was strange for me in the sense that we had income without working. Even tho we worked from home for 10 years and had our own business. Now I am used to it. It was easier for my husband, he was tired.

My mom retired five years ago after 33 years of teaching second grade and kindergarten. She says that she's on permanent Christmas Vacation because she finished right before the holidays, too! She LOVES retirement.

Being retired is one of the best things that's ever happened to me. My DH adjusted better than I thought he would too although it was tough for me adjusting to him being home all the time!

I will warn you that all that lovely free time you think you'll have is something of a joke as your day expands to fill any free time void!!!!

It helps that you have hobbies and interests outside of your job too. (I've forgotten exactly what you do though.) It sounds as if you'll miss your co-workers but you'll soon find other things to do and will gradually wean yourself away from the old normal.

So plug away and get caught up and we'll 'keep the light on' for you here!
