Olivia update

Olivia finished her meds last Friday to treat her parasites and bacterial infection. Fingers crossed that they did their job and both her tummy troubles and tear stains are behind us!

Friday is Spay Day...hoping that her blood work is good (one liver enzyme level was a little off in December but the specialist wasn't concerned since her bile acids test results were good. I, of course, freaked out at even the thought of a liver issue after just losing Emma). And she'll also probably be getting an x-ray. The little brat decided to chew off a metal snap from a dress that she was able to grab. I've been checking but it's been over a week and hasn't seemed to "reappear". The vet said we could x-ray just to be sure that it found its way out. I'll be super glad for the spay surgery to be behind us. I bought her a "onesie" so that she can't lick her incision open while I'm at work. We've been testing it out...she's so used to wearing clothes that she doesn't really pay attention to it. I figured that it would be less irritating to her than a cone of shame.

Hopefully her tummy troubles are over now.
Let us know how the spay day did. It's a few days to go through but they recover fast.

I had to go back and read what happen to Emma.

I am so sorry for your loss. However, I am so happy to see you have another love in your life. Olivia is adorable

Glad her parasites and infections are clearing up.

Glad to see she is feeling better. I'm sure her surgery will go just fine.

I got home with Olivia about an hour ago. She's pretty dopey from the anesthesia but everything went well. No issues with her spay, no retained baby teeth, and no metal snap in the x-ray! We're going to have a lazy weekend while she recuperates...

Poor baby threw up yesterday evening and twice more in the night. I guess the anesthesia upset her tummy. She ate some breakfast this morning so hoping that stays where it's supposed to!

By the way, her little "onesie" has been PERFECT. I highly recommend it to any little one in place of the annoying cone of shame, especially if your baby is already used to wearing clothes.

Olivia is doing very well! She went back to the vet yesterday for blood work to check the liver enzyme level that was a little elevated 6 months ago. It's back into the normal range, along with everything else. The vet took a look at her incision and said that it's healing nicely and she no longer has any restrictions. With all of the yucky medical stuff behind us, it's time to pack her bag for her first trip to the beach!
