Fiona - the early days!

Although we got Fiona from a local rescue, she was actually found in Philadelphia by a lady who does rescue there and is friends with the woman with the local rescue here. Anyway, I received an email from the original rescuer earlier who wanted current photos and she sent me pics of what Fiona looked like when she was first picked up. I can't see any resemblance to a Westie, can you all? Of course, as you all pointed out, it doesn't really matter what breed she is but still, I'm curious!

Both Teddy and Fi were groomed today and the groomer took photos of them with a St. Patrick's Day background.

Can't say I see Westie in that picture at all. She looks sad in that rescue picture. She looks soooo much better now she is with you.

I don't see Westie at all. My good friend had 2 Westies and a fellow agility friend has a Westie. Nope - don't see it. Her picture when she was picked up looks all Maltese to me.

Saw a dog DNA test kit on Amazon for $41.09 if you really want to know. They have a data base with a lot of dogs but if Fi has a breed in her that is not within their data base it will not show up. At least that is how it was explained to me. But I don't think she is mixed with multiple breeds myself. Just saying if you are interested. I paid $35.00 when I did Brandy

I may do a dna test one day but it's really not that important. I just like to wonder and I do think she's mixed with something as she weighs about 15 pounds. Just wanted to show what she looked like when she was found.

The only reason I did the DNA test on Brandy is because if she was mixed with another breed then I would not be able to grow her into a full coat if say, she was mixed with poodle, bichon, etc. I would have been battling hair to grow out that would not be flat. But it turned out she was 100% maltese. So whether she was or wasn't 100% made no difference, she was a keeper.

Ollie weighs a little bit over 10 pounds (like about 10.4). Some babies are just big even though they are outside of the "average" weight.
