Right - definitely no grapes/raisins, chocolate, onions, macadamia nuts...I think there's a whole list in the Health/Foods section!

Tebow likes carrots and apples too. But he also loves the junk food.

Thanks for the tips. I already searched online for foods dogs should not eat.

I have to tell you, though. I'm pissed at the movie "As Good as it Gets". You know how Jack nicolson gives the little dog bacon? well, I went to the market the day before yesterday, and purchased a packet of bacon (nature's choice, all-natural, no nitrates) to cook and freeze to use as her treats for training. Thanks goodness I checked online first! because it's a one of the ten deadliest foods to give pets. Gives them a condition called Bloat, which causes the dog to drink tons of water due to the high salt content in it, very bad. Good thing I'm a serial researcher. I wonder how many people fed their dogs bacon after watching that movie thinking it was a brilliant idea. I use to give my Walter bacon.

OLIVIA IS SO CUTE. THE CUTENESS. SO MUCH.

Olivia, I use Bil-Jacs Little Jacs training treats cut up in quarters to train my pup Mickey. Works fantastic. Liver treats are really pungent but dogs love them and they're not too expensive at the store. I personally have never met a dog that doesn't enjoy a nice liver treat so you might want to give them a try!

I give my dogs bacon from time to time. They absolutely love it.

I only give them a wee little piece every two weeks or so. I think it's only bad if you give it to them often and especially in big quantities.

Me too. Tebow thinks it is quite the treat.

Thanks for the compliments!

Ok, now I don't feel so bad, although I haven't yet fed her any. I think I'll hold off until she's over a year old. I'm still shell-shocked from Walter so I'm being ultra cautious. I fed bacon to my Walts all the time, but he was such an old goat.
I'll just have to make sure it's super low sodium bacon if I ever do decide to treat her. Thanks

Awwww Olivia is beautiful!!! I still haven't shared Alaska's "growing up" photos yet, I'll have to sort through the millions of photos of her to share with MT members
You're so very lucky to have such a gorgeous pup

I also give them turkey bacon. It's healthier and taste really good too. You might want to substitute, plus it's healthier for us too

Thanks, again for the compliments.

Good idea about the T-bacon. I hope I can find it in all-natural brand. I hate nitrates in any product.
