Thank you Andrea so much. You know you are a very special person in my life and I will never be able to repay the way you ALL have made me feel.

![]() When I went through all of this with Miko, my husband and I were alone in all of it, and I know we would have been so much more at ease if we knew others that had gone through it. Noone had ever heard of the procedure that our vet was recommending, but we went with it because we knew Miko couldn't live a good life without it. I'm so happy we did it, and throughout the years we've been able to do a lot of research and try different things and now know what to do. I never thought we would get him to the point where he didn't have stones/crystals, but it has been so long now!! It really is amazing ![]() As far as the food goes, what do you feed him currently? Did the vet tell you what pH of his urine was? The stone analysis is so important to know what kind of food to feed, but at least knowing the pH in the meantime will help decide whether you need to incorporate foods that are alkaline or acidic. You can also buy pH test strips from solidgoldhealth.com or even from your pharmacy. If his urine is alkaline, he may benefit from something like Berry Balance. If his urine is acidic, then we need to find out if he has ammonium urate or calcium oxalate. But since we don't know yet, if you decide to change his food we'll have to make sure to keep his food low oxalate and lower purine just in case. The only thing that I can recommend 100% until you get those results back is adding equal parts water to the dry food. High moisture is the key when crystals/stones are involved. |
