Dentals

Count down until next Sunday for dental cleanings for Tebow and Bentley. UGH. Can't complain about Tebow's - this is his first and he is 6. But still dreading it.

That's incredible. I just read so much about how many teeth have to be pulled. So scary. How many dentals has Jack had?

Charlie goes in for a dental on Wednesday. I am afraid he will loose another tooth. He has bad teeth, vet said it's probably genetic.

I only have two more to get dentals on and we should be good for a while. Always scares me to get it done......a necessary evil. Hate that you have to take them in early and pick them up late afternoon. They always called me to come pick up Kallie early cause she was a non-stop barker.

I think he has had a dental every 2 years since we've had him, so about 5 so far.

Wow - guess I shouldn't be complaining then. It's not the cost or the inconvenience of taking them that worries me, it's the putting them under.

The only thing that might eventually help is brushing their teeth everyday and tho if it is genetic it will not help either. Having their teeth cleaned professionally every 2 years will help. My first Maltese had all his teeth when he died at age 14 but he had a dental cleaning every 2 years until the age of 11. We stopped at this time because of his heart condition.

I get my guys teeth cleaned when their breath starts to smell. Usually every 2 years. I give my guys bully sticks and have noticed that their teeth look pretty clean with the exception of the back molars. Brushing helps. Make sure you use toothpaste for dogs.

Boy am I behind on posting. Things have been crazy here. Both boys passed with flying colors. All teeth still intact.

Great news about the boys dentals! We have tried to brush Jack's teeth since he was a puppy, but he keeps his mouth closed and chomps down on the brush and licks all the paste off!!
