Another Picture

Thought I'd post another photo of the new dog and ask for your help in naming her. We've thought that maybe something Christmasy would be appropriate but can't really settle on anything. Here's the not-so- short list so far but any other suggestions are welcome:

Tinsel
Glitter
Twinkle
Trinket
Sparkle
Sugar Plum
Jingle
Bliss
Dazzle
Merry Christmas (Merry)
Holly
White Christmas (Christie) - not a favorite
Mistletoe (Mistie)

(My GD also suggested Aspen and call her Assy because of her growling and biting! (She (GD) was being sarcastic & that ain't gonna happen!)

The rescue calls her Phoebe but I had a friend with an utterly obnoxious dog named Phoebe and just can't bear to keep that name. Her foster mom calls her Phe though which is kinda cute.

All help appreciated!

Well if I must pick from the list, Holly.

But I've always liked Hanna and Lacey.

Holly is my favorite from your list if you want to stick with a holiday themed name.

When I was naming Emma, my other two choices were Ava and Hannah. With Olivia, I also thought of Amelia and Abigail. I think Mia is cute, too.

Good luck with your choice!

I like Holly and Sugar Plum. Both have Christmas time connections. Sugar Plum is cute - she's white so sugar and the plum changes it to a Christmasy name. She could be Sugar for short.

They are all very good, I would like to add 2 to the list: Ivy and Holly

Just saw the name Holly on the list.

We aren't considering Christmas names exclusively. Unfortunately, can't name her Ivy as that's the name of a family member! Also, people names don't seem to fit - she just doesn't seem like a people name dog if that makes sense. Right now we call her Girl almost all of the time. (Like Tarzan called Boy, Boy, I guess!)

She goes back to her foster mom on the 3rd for a dental then we need to decide if we're going to officially keep her. She's really sweet most of the time but will growl and snap if she doesn't get her way. It's like a child stomping their foot and crying if they can't have what they want. And poor Teddy just doesn't know what to think of her!

Maybe we should name her "The Intimidator"!

Based on her personality/behavior, Gingersnap might be an appropriate name!

Ebbie, short for Ebenezer, because she will forget about the past and love the future with you.

Mitzi was Rudolph's mother's name

Does he snap when you are holding her? Shadow will do that if I am holding him. No dog can approach me. If I put him in the floor, he is as sweet as he can be. I think it is just a Maltese thing. I just let the dogs work out their likes and dislikes. No bites but there are times they growl at each other. Yeti is alpha and that won't change. Most of the time they play and rough house. Tank has the same personality, but Amy gives her visitors treats to feed him when they enter the house.

She loves being held unless it's preventing her from doing something she wants to do (like going for a walk or a ride).

She's actually ok with Teddy but you can tell she's the alpha. She growls and 'threatens' him sometimes but doesn't try to fight him or anything.

Visitors get barked and growled at but with a wagging tail. She's the same way if DH or I go outside and come back in. If visitors ignore her or give her treats, she's fine. A dog-loving friend came by and had treats in her pocket which she offered to Teddy and her after both of them had sniffed her. She always brings treats for Teddy because he's very hesitant around visitors even if they've been here several times (that includes family!) Anyway, after the treats, she climbed up in my friend's lap and stayed there the whole visit.

That's why I think she'll eventually settle down and be fine. She's just very unsure of new people and situations but is very loving when she feels secure (& is getting what she wants!)
